DW reported that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock was forced to suspend her week-long trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji on August 14 after her plane had an accident.
"We tried everything, but logistically I could not continue my trip to the Pacific due to a plane malfunction. Things did not go as planned," German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock posted on the social network X, the new name for Twitter.

The Airbus A340 carrying the German Foreign Minister had an incident after taking off on August 14. The plane had to stop in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to refuel.
"Mission aborted! The error reappeared when the plane was fully refueled. We are landing in Abu Dhabi again," the German Air Force announced on social network X.
Earlier, a spokesman for the German foreign office said: " Due to a mechanical problem, we had to return to Abu Dhabi for safety reasons. Options for the next trip are being considered."
The pilot, who has 35 years of flying experience, said he had never encountered such a fault in his career. The plane had to dump 80 tons of fuel to land safely.
Engineers are still checking whether the Airbus A340 can be repaired or replaced.
Foreign Minister Baerbock was previously stranded in Doha, Qatar, in May when her plane had a tire problem. She also had to cancel a meeting with her British counterpart James Cleverly last year due to bad weather.
