Completely different from usual, in late March 2024, Ms. Le Thi Ba (56 years old) opened a small tea shop on Dong Da Street (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh) and was busy waking up from dawn to open the shop to welcome a large number of customers pouring in.

Mrs. Ba's tea shop has been open for nearly 5 years but has never welcomed such a large number of customers.

"Last week, when the door opened at 5am, there were already a lot of customers coming in. There were people I knew, and there were also strangers I met for the first time. There were also people with different skin colors and hair colors.

They come from many places but all talk about Quy Nhon with something very new. They love the hospitable people of Quy Nhon, appreciate this land and consider it a place worth visiting," said Ms. Ba.

"Paragliding in the sky, motorboats roaring in the water. This is the first time I've seen such a different, new Quy Nhon. I wish the festival would last longer. Now it's over, the happy days have passed, and the streets are less crowded," Ms. Ba shared.

On the evening of March 31, Binh Dinh closed the exciting days of the cultural and culinary week and the first world powerboat race. But the echoes of this event still spread.

A big event certainly cannot avoid "sand grains". However, Quy Nhon has gained more than anything by awakening its potential, allowing "beautiful girls to become beauty queens", creating attractive tourism models, attracting investors and tourists...

Before talking about the successes, the regret for the locals and tourists is that many people did not have the opportunity to attend the international music show, jet ski race... because they had to buy tickets.

Or there are regrets with the locals because the name change from Thi Nai lagoon to Thi Nai bay to promote the UIM F1H2O World Championship international powerboat racing event caused many people to react.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, this is a famous race in the world, foreigners prefer to use the word BAY. And he has also researched very carefully that using the word bay instead of lagoon in this case is not wrong but very appropriate.

"Our beauty queen has stepped out into the world, so we should give her a more worthy name," Mr. Tuan said. One of Binh Dinh's greatest successes this time is putting the name Thi Nai on the world tourism map.

The highlight of this festival is that for the first time, people and tourists coming to Binh Dinh will be able to admire the party of lights with the artistic Drone Light performance; international music night performed by singers and bands from Korea, Thailand and the Philippines...

According to the assessment, through this cultural week, Binh Dinh's specialties are known to more people and people can admire the performances of domestic and international chefs.

In particular, for the first time, an international sports competition such as professional powerboat racing took place in Vietnam. The tournament that many people had only seen on TV for a long time was now witnessed in the middle of the vast Thi Nai Bay.

According to statistics from the Binh Dinh Department of Tourism, during the 10 days of the Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024 Week (from March 21 to 31), over 710,000 visitors attended the event and visited historical sites, scenic spots, etc. in the province. Of which, over 5,000 were international visitors and over 660,000 were domestic visitors. A truly impressive number for a province whose tourism industry is still young.

Not only cultural and sports events, Binh Dinh also organizes an investment promotion conference with the participation of many USD billionaires and a series of businessmen around the world. This is a valuable opportunity for the province to promote and attract investment into the province, boosting the provincial economy.

The spirit of "reaching out to the ocean" is being realized by Binh Dinh thanks to the strategic thinking and "quality work" of the provincial leaders and functional units.
