The army's beautiful gesture towards the people in the drought and salinity area of ​​Ca Mau

On the afternoon of April 20, the Naval Region 5 Command, Saigon Newport Corporation and the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee coordinated with the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district to provide water tanks, water filters and gifts to policy families, poor households and households in difficult circumstances in Tran Van Thoi, U Minh and Thoi Binh districts.

Accordingly, the delegation presented 50 500-liter water tanks to people in 4 communes, in the 3 districts mentioned above. Of which, Khanh Binh Dong commune, Tran Van Thoi district received 60 tanks; Khanh Tien and Khanh Lam communes, U Minh district received 30 tanks each and Bien Bach commune, Binh district received 30 tanks.

Colonel Nguyen Hoang Nam, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, presented gifts to people in two districts in the 2024 drought area of ​​Ca Mau province (CTV).

In addition, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation also presented 50 cash gifts, worth 1 million VND each, to 50 policy families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances, and 200 20-liter water bottles to 200 households in Khanh Binh Dong commune, Tran Van Thoi district, with a total cost of nearly 400 million VND. The above practical gifts were donated by the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Naval Region 5 Command, and Tan Cang Saigon Corporation.

Therefore, the very practical gifts from the Naval Region 5 Command and Saigon Newport Corporation have helped people have more clean water and fresh water storage equipment for daily life, serving the essential needs of life, ensuring family health. The above beautiful gesture has demonstrated the steadfast tradition of the army and people, the beautiful image of Uncle Ho's soldiers" - said Mr. Trinh Thanh Hien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Binh Dong Commune, Tran Van Thoi District.

Previously, in order to share with people facing the serious drought and salinity situation, the Military Region 9 Command mobilized the 659th Transport Brigade to use a specialized ship to transport nearly 2,000 m3 of clean water to provide free of charge to people in Bien Bach commune, Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ca Mau, the whole province currently has over 3,742 households lacking or not having access to domestic water. Recently, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province announced a level 2 drought emergency for U Minh and Tran Van Thoi districts.
