City Department of Education and Training meets to celebrate 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day

(Haiphong. gov.vn) - On the afternoon of November 15, at the City Conference Center, the City Department of Education and Training organized a Meeting Program to celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024). Attending the Program were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam and leaders of the Department of Education and Training through many periods, and generations of former teachers.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the city has 98 students winning prizes in the National High School Student Competition, ranking 3rd nationwide; 2 first prizes in the National Science and Technology Competition and selected to participate in the International Competition. In the International and Regional Olympic competitions, Hai Phong has 4 students participating and excellently won 5 Medals. The average score of the High School Graduation Exam is 7.15 points; ranked 6th nationwide. The rate of students recognized as graduating from Middle School, High School and passing the University entrance exam is always high.

Speaking at the Program, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam acknowledged the contributions, efforts and enthusiasm of the collective of cadres, leaders, teachers and employees of the Hai Phong Education Sector in recent years. Thanks to that, the quality of mass education and key education has achieved many glorious achievements, affirming the position of Hai Phong education on the national education map. In particular, the work of discovering and nurturing excellent national and international students has always achieved proud achievements, maintaining the top position in the provinces and cities.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed his hope that each teacher will constantly cultivate, practice, and improve their knowledge, qualities, ethics, and lifestyle, always being the one to inspire and ignite the passion for learning, seeking, and discovering knowledge for students. Thereby, actively contributing to "building and developing Hai Phong to become a leading city in the country in the cause of industrialization and modernization...; an international center for education, training, research, application, and development of science and technology" in accordance with Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo.

2 groups (Ngo Quyen High School and Cat Ba High School) were honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister; 4 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Government.

8 excellent Labor collectives received awards.

On this occasion, 2 collectives (Ngo Quyen High School and Cat Ba High School) were honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Prime Minister; 4 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Government; 3 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training; 4 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee; 8 collectives were awarded the title of Excellent Labor Collective.
