On April 12, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province organized the Binh Minh Thanh Tra Festival, performing the preparation of 135 dishes and drinks made from Thanh Tra fruit and setting a Vietnamese record.

The Thanh Tra Festival held at Dong Thanh Secondary and High School (Dong Thanh Commune, Binh Minh Town) attracted hundreds of visitors from inside and outside the province to attend and enjoy specialties of Binh Minh Town and Vinh Long Province.

The festival was attended by representatives of provincial departments, representatives of the Vietnam Record Association, and the Mekong Delta Chefs Association.

The organizers arranged 25 booths to display OCOP products of Vinh Long province such as tofu skin, Japanese purple sweet potatoes, flat rice, fermented bean curd, soybeans... Especially the booths displayed specialty products made from pomelo.

There are 2 spaces for demonstrations, processing 135 dishes and drinks from pomelos and setting a Vietnamese record. Visitors to the festival can also enjoy free dishes such as traditional Southern cakes, dishes made from pomelos, purple pomelos, etc.

This program is part of Vinh Long Province Tourism Week, lasting from April 26 to May 2.

The event attracted more than 20 provinces and cities nationwide to register to participate in the activities. The main activities include the Southern Traditional Cake Festival combined with the Trade Promotion Fair, OCOP products and regional specialties.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - said that with its delicious, sweet and sour taste, attractive bright yellow color and health benefits, pomelo has become a favorite choice not only for domestic people but also for many international tourists.

"This is the first time the province has organized Thanh Tra Festival, an opportunity for us to honor and introduce a specialty fruit of Binh Minh town.

This is also an opportunity for us to enjoy delicious pomelos and pomelo products, an opportunity for gardeners, agricultural production and processing facilities to exchange experiences, expand consumption markets, promote the image and introduce the province's tourism development potential," she said.
