Raising awareness among cadres and youth union members about human trafficking, illegal immigration and labor

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On January 26, the Hai Phong City Youth Union coordinated with the British Council in Vietnam to organize a conference to mobilize the participation of relevant parties in coordinating the implementation of activities of the Project "From Backstage to the Future". Attending the conference were representatives of departments, branches, sectors, and the city; Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries of district and county youth unions.

The project “From Behind the Scenes to the Future” - a social action project using culture, arts and creativity to accompany mass organizations to create positive changes in society through supporting safe migration and preventing human trafficking in Vietnam, co-funded by the UK Government and the European Union in the period 2021 - 2024.

The project aims to help individuals at high risk of becoming victims of trafficking and unsafe migration and returned victims in urban, semi-rural and rural areas, ensure that they have access to important and useful information on safe behaviour, support from diverse social sectors, and access to public support services.

At the Conference, delegates listened to opinions from representatives of relevant departments, agencies, units and organizations on the current situation of human trafficking, solutions to prevent human trafficking and support safe migration...

Through the Conference, the city's cadres and youth union members will raise awareness of human trafficking, illegal migration and labor, and better understand the consequences of human trafficking and unsafe migration; at the same time, each cadre and youth union member will become an active propagandist participating in preventing and combating human trafficking and promoting safe migration.

In the coming time, in order to continue to effectively implement the Project "From Backstage to the Future", Hai Phong City Youth Union expressed its desire to receive the attention and support of Departments, agencies, units and organizations in the city. From there, it will actively contribute to the efforts of Hai Phong City in particular and the Party, State and Government of Vietnam in general in supporting safe migration and preventing human trafficking today.

In 2023, Hai Phong City Youth Union actively implemented activities within the Project "From Backstage to the Future", typically: Training activities on creative communication; training on forum stages; posting and promoting publications on preventing human trafficking and promoting safe migration on the social networking sites of the Union, Association... The activities received enthusiastic response and widespread participation from the city's youth union members.
