Ms. Nguyen Thi Sau and her son are still in shock after the tragic accident between two passenger buses on the night of June 17.

I escaped the “death sentence” thanks to the bus company saying they would change the bed for the person who had died. It should have been me who died ,” Mrs. Sau recounted fearfully. Until now, Mrs. Sau is still haunted by the screams for help and the cries of children.

At that time, I had just fallen asleep when I heard a loud noise. When I woke up, I saw a chaotic scene, many people were seriously injured. The whole car was in chaos, screaming and rescuing people. The scene happened very quickly. I quickly grabbed my things and got out of the car. I also lost my money, so now I have to call home to borrow money to pay the hospital bill ,” said Mrs. Sau.

While bandaging his head wound, Mr. Tran Quoc Luan (32 years old), Mrs. Sau's son, who was also in the car, said that at the time of the accident, the two cars were traveling at quite a high speed.

Everyone on the bus was in chaos, screaming. I was in the middle bed, so when the accident happened, the goods and luggage from the upper floor fell on me, causing me to have a lot of chest pain. The accident happened late at night and it was quiet, so not many people came to help. Those who were lightly injured found an empty path to climb out, while those who were seriously injured were later helped out by the authorities, ” said Mr. Luan.

On June 18, regarding the serious accident between two passenger buses that killed two people and injured nine others, the leader of Phu Yen General Hospital said that among the nine hospitalized patients, one patient with a traumatic brain injury was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital. The remaining patients' health has stabilized, and some patients are completing procedures to return to their hometowns for convenient care.
