Which five packages are invited for bidding in the second and third quarters of 2024?

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV, the investor of the Long Thanh airport component 3 project), in the second and third quarters of 2024, the unit will continue to bid for many new packages for the Long Thanh airport project. Specifically, including packages 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 7.8 and 11.5.

Passenger terminal, one of the important items of Long Thanh airport project. This item has taken shape, progressing as planned.

In particular, package 4.7 - Construction and installation of equipment for aircraft parking facilities and other projects has completed the technical design appraisal, is approving the design and organizing the selection of contractors. This package is expected to start construction in July 2024 and be completed in August 2026.

Similarly, package 4.8 - Construction, equipment installation, design and construction drawings for internal port traffic works and airport technical infrastructure has also completed technical design appraisal. This package is also expected to start construction this July and be completed in July 2026.

Package No. 4.9 - Construction and installation of aircraft fuel supply system equipment is also selecting contractors to start construction in July and complete in May 2026.

In addition, package 7.8 - Construction and installation of equipment for cargo terminal No. 1 and remaining auxiliary works is also undergoing technical design. This package is expected to start construction in January 2025 and will be completed in May 2026.

Also during this period, package 11.5 - Construction and installation of equipment for the parking garage project is implementing technical design. This package will start in January 2025 and be completed in August 2026.

Long Thanh Airport is under construction and watering to reduce dust dispersion.

To date, the total value of works/contracts signed for the Long Thanh airport project is over 53,000 billion. The total disbursement value is over 11,000 billion, reaching 21.41%.

Long Thanh Airport covers an area of ​​5,000 hectares, with a total investment of VND336,630 billion (equivalent to USD16.3 billion), divided into 3 phases. In phase 1 (expected to be operational in 2026), Long Thanh Airport has a capacity to serve 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year.

When fully completed, Long Thanh airport will have 4 runways, 4 passenger terminals and synchronous auxiliary items, with a capacity of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year.

Up to now, the passenger terminal, runway, connecting roads... of Long Thanh airport have taken shape. The basic items are meeting and exceeding the set schedule.

The passenger terminal is currently under construction, with concrete poured in many locations. Contractors are mobilizing workers and machinery to take advantage of the dry season to race across the construction site.

The runway and taxiway have also taken shape. The workload is increasing day by day. This project is expected to be completed 3 months ahead of schedule.
