Since the beginning of 2024, the Market Management force has been proactive and closely following developments to carry out the task of inspecting and controlling the market to serve the fight against smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud in Binh Thuan. Through inspection, it was found that violations of business conditions, trading in smuggled goods, prohibited goods, and goods of unknown origin still occurred, concentrated in some fashion, food, and cosmetic items...
According to the Binh Thuan Market Management Department, in the first quarter of 2024, the authorities inspected 94 cases, thereby detecting and handling 47 violations (a decrease of 23 cases compared to the same period last year). It is known that the total amount of administrative fines, sale of confiscated goods and forced return of illegal profits to the state budget is more than 770 million VND, in addition to confiscation of some other violating goods. For prominent items, the authorities in the province focused on inspecting cigarettes, gas, food, cosmetics, fashion... and all detected violations.
Notably, the inspection of cosmetics detected 5/5 violations of the act of trading in smuggled goods, while the food item had 5/16 violations of the act of trading in smuggled goods and trading in goods of unknown origin. Meanwhile, the fashion item was inspected in 22 cases, and 18 violations of the act of trading in goods of unknown origin were detected and handled... Particularly for petroleum products, recently, the Binh Thuan Market Management Department has strengthened inspection and control work under the direction of the General Department of Market Management. Thereby, 20 cases were inspected and 9 violations of the act of not registering the distribution system with the competent state management agency as prescribed were discovered. Currently, the unit is also drafting a specialized inspection plan for petroleum products in Binh Thuan, expected to be issued this April.
In the first quarter of this year, the Market Management force also participated in the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team to inspect and control the market before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024 in Phan Thiet, La Gi, Ham Tan, Ham Thuan Nam, Tanh Linh. At the same time, it coordinated with the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team to conduct inspections on food production and trading (poultry slaughterhouses, wine production, fish sauce, milk rice flakes, vermicelli, bottled drinking water, etc.), preliminary processing of agricultural products (melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashew nuts, etc.) and confectionery, milk, beer, rice, etc.
It is forecasted that the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods will continue to develop complicatedly, so in the coming time, the Binh Thuan Market Management Department will step up the fight, inspection and control of the situation of smuggling, counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights, goods violating origin and e-commerce fraud. Especially focusing on important items such as: Sugar, gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, fertilizers, agricultural supplies and chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, fashion, functional foods, medicinal herbs and traditional medicine, new tobacco products...
Recently, at the end of March 2024, the Binh Thuan Market Management Department announced the address for receiving feedback information (directly, in writing) and the hotline of the unit as well as the Market Management Teams under the Department. Thereby, promptly receiving reports from organizations and individuals about the acts of trading in smuggled goods or producing and trading in counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, goods of unknown origin. Or acts such as: Infringement of intellectual property rights; violation of laws on measurement, quality, price, food safety; violation of laws on consumer rights protection and other acts of commercial fraud as prescribed by law...
