Summer in the seaside city

I love wandering around the streets not because I crave the hustle and bustle but because I crave… trees and flowers. Especially in the summer, every street is filled with vibrant colors that captivate people’s hearts.

The avenue is wide and spacious, with ornamental trees and bougainvillea planted in the middle. There are countless bougainvillea flowers, all colors of orange, yellow, red, and white, all blooming brightly. The flowers bloom for a long time, lasting for several months in the summer. As soon as one flower falls, another one will bloom in turn. That is why there are always bright and cheerful flowers. Whenever I am in a bad mood, I just need to drive slowly to admire the flowers and all my sadness will suddenly disappear. Why be sad when the flowers are still so beautiful?

There is also a boulevard planted with five-color flowers. The five-color flower variety is exactly like the temperament of bougainvillea, the flowers are abundant and they bloom for a very long time. From a distance, the road looks like a carpet of flowers mixed with yellow, orange, and red. It is like a magical carpet in a fairy tale. The tiny flowers are crowded together, hiding the green of the leaves, it seems like there are only flowers and no leaves. How beautiful.

Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue leading to Doi Duong is my favorite road, because this season is filled with the scent of frangipani flowers. Every early morning, the scent of flowers permeates the air with a seductive scent that captivates the sense of smell. Driving slowly, smelling the delicate fragrance of the flowers, feeling the chill of the early morning, the soul seems to be cleansed of worries and sorrows. The wind blowing from the sea is cool, blowing all the hair back. Park the bike in a corner of the park, walk along the rows of flowers, and inhale the fragrant scent of the earth and sky. Only at that moment can one feel the joy of a fresh early morning. No wonder, every morning there are so many people exercising in this park.

I was so fascinated by the scent of frangipani that I picked up some fallen flowers and brought them home. I put them on a porcelain plate and left them in the living room. The fragrance lasted for several days before fading. This captivating scent was no wonder that musician Hoang Phuong was inspired to write these lyrics that captivated generations: Every night I smell the scent, the scent of her frangipani, the strong scent of love calling out here and there (Her frangipani).

There are some small streets, not too wide but the roadside is planted with bright yellow Osaka flowers. In the middle of the flower season, the whole neighborhood is splendidly decorated with many yellow flower vines swaying in the wind. It seems like the whole neighborhood is covered in gold. Strangely, after every rain, the color of the flowers becomes even more golden, as if the summer rain has dyed the flowers red.

Osaka flowers bloom for quite a long time. Although they are not as fragrant as frangipani, people like to grow them because this tree has many flowers, and the flowers hang down in clusters, very poetic. No wonder girls love to take selfies under the Osaka tree. Dreamy eyes, faint smiles, how can anyone's heart not be lost. People smile. Flowers smile. The frame is radiant with the warm colors of summer. No wonder this flower is also called the queen flower.

There are streets that prefer to grow yellow bellflowers. In front of each house there is a tree. This type of tree blooms all year round, with a lot of flowers and is as bright yellow as Osaka, also blooming in large clusters, covering the whole tree in a bright yellow color. Running along the street, every house is still sleepy, only the flowers are smiling brightly. I waved goodbye to the happy yellow bellflowers and the flowers also shook and greeted me with a bright smile.

Who says that the city is not dreamy? Who says that the city is only noisy with traffic? The city is still very poetic because of the many colorful flowers on the avenues, roads, and street corners. Don't look at the city during the early morning rush hours or the rush hour and see the crowdedness and the hurried pace of life. Look at the city on an early morning when the dew is still sleeping on the leaves, when the flowers have awakened to color their colorful dresses, to see how poetic the city is. Look at the city on an early morning when the elderly are enthusiastically exercising, the young people in sport clothes are playing volleyball under the poplar trees, the boys are passionate about skateboarding... to see a city full of vitality.

And look at the city in the early morning when the street lights have not yet turned off, the sanitation workers have started a working day to keep the streets clean and beautiful. Look at the environmental workers watering the trees, weeding, pruning branches to keep the streets full of flowers and green trees. Look at the city at those special moments to appreciate the hard work of the silent people who make the city beautiful every day without ever counting the credit.

And every morning, drive slowly around the streets, look at the colorful flowers, breathe in the scent of flowers, and enjoy the sea breeze to see that life is still very beautiful.
