Dr. Ha Thuc Vien - Vice President of VGU briefly reported on some outstanding achievements and development orientation of VGU

Reporting to the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Ha Thuc Vien - Vice President of VGU summarized some of the outstanding achievements and development orientations of VGU. Established and put into operation since September 2008, Vietnam-Germany University is the result of bilateral international cooperation in highereducation between the Government of Vietnam, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) and the State Government of Hessen (Federal Republic of Germany) , considered a "lighthouse" project in the international cooperation in education and training between Vietnam and Germany. Vietnam-Germany University was formed and developed with the goal of becoming a research-oriented university, aiming for excellence in teaching, research and administration, the school's training focus is on key engineering and technology fields as well as economics and financial management, which are Germany's strengths.

By February 2025, the entire school had 237 lecturers and staff in both academic and administrative sectors, of which the academic sector (lecturers, researchers, research assistants, teachers and laboratory engineers ) of the school was 108 people, including 48 permanent lecturers (45 lecturers with doctoral degrees, accounting for 95.6%), all of whom were recruited according to the standards and procedures for recruiting and appointing professors of German universities.

By studying the training program, students and trainees of the School have many advantages, having the opportunity to access advanced education with excellent academic quality, being taught directly by leading professors, rich in professional experience and practical experience at leading universities in Germany and by qualified lecturers of the School.

At the meeting, Vietnam-Germany University made recommendations and proposals, asking for opinions from Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on the following issues: VGU hopes to receive support from the Government in developing specialized training programs in finance, risk management and financial technology (fintech), as well as connecting with German businesses to implement applied research projects.

In addition, the School proposes to strengthen cooperation with the state of Hessen and international financial organizations to build a training and research ecosystem, contributing to providing high-quality human resources for financial centers in Vietnam.

After listening to the opinions of the University and the leaders of Binh Duong province and the Ministries, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh agreed with the goal of building VGU into a leading university in the world, a " lighthouse " in strengthening the Vietnam - Germany relationship, especially in education and training, playing a close and important role as a bridge between the two countries in the coming time.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that VGU take advantage of its cooperative relationship with the state of Hessen and German organizations to train high-quality human resources in the fields of finance, technology and management, which are core factors for the development of International Financial Centers.

German professors need to discuss and suggest to the Vietnamese Government policies to attract German partners, encourage German enterprises to invest, participate in building and developing financial centers in Vietnam, contributing to digital transformation and innovation, in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
