Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Asian Center for Water Research (CARE) on November 15. The center was established in 2013 as one of the joint laboratories of RESCIF (Research and Technology Excellence Network of the Francophone Community).

CARE is also the first four-continental collaboration center in Vietnam, co-founded by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and the RESCIF network. The RESCIF network includes 17 universities from 13 countries across four continents: Europe, Asia, America and Africa.

Currently, CARE is the only research center in Southern Vietnam that develops joint research projects and training activities between Vietnamese and European research and training institutions on key environmental issues in the region. Specifically, it includes the fields of sustainable water resources management, water and wastewater pollution control, air pollution, water cycle vulnerability assessment and environmental ecology.
