At the meeting, the Prime Minister and Mr. Nick Clegg discussed the future of innovation, including the latest trends in artificial intelligence (AI), as well as how Meta and its Vietnamese partners can work together to continue building an innovation-focused relationship, thereby promoting the application of AI and digital economic growth in Vietnam.
Mr. Nick Clegg expressed his impression of Vietnam's resilient spirit, which has helped Vietnam overcome difficult and challenging times in history and develop strongly in recent years.
Agreeing with the Prime Minister’s proposals, Mr. Nick Clegg highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government’s data strategy; Vietnam’s population of 100 million, young, dynamic, energetic, and technologically proficient, as well as its good education and training foundation. Currently, Vietnam is one of the world’s leading markets for conversational business (on Facebook’s Messenger application) for exchanges between sellers and buyers.

Stating that Meta is very honored to participate in the "Innovation Challenge" program of Vietnam organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as well as participating in many other effective cooperation activities in Vietnam, Mr. Nick Clegg also shared about Meta's cooperation and investment plans in Vietnam in the coming time.
In particular, Meta will expand production of Meta's latest mixed reality device - Quest 3S in Vietnam by 2025. This is expected to create about 1,000 jobs in Vietnam, and also shows Meta's trust in Vietnam's human resources.
In particular, in the coming months, Meta will deploy the virtual assistant "Meta AI" in Vietnamese, with the hope that Vietnamese businesses and people can access this tool for many different purposes, thereby strongly promoting innovation.
Meta's leaders pledged to continue supporting and expanding investment programs, encouraging innovation, and supporting growth for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam in the coming time; at the same time, they made a number of proposals related to specific planning for frequency bands and recommendations on the legal framework to create more favorable conditions for the business environment.

Welcoming Mr. Nick Clegg's visit, especially his participation in the activities of the National Innovation Day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam wishes to continue promoting and deepening relations with the United States in all fields.
Noting that Vietnam is one of the countries that suffered the most pain and loss after World War II, the Prime Minister assessed that the Vietnam-US relationship is a model of putting the past behind, respecting differences, promoting similarities, looking towards the future, and becoming increasingly stable and developing despite many changes in the world.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to investment projects from the United States; always creating the most favorable conditions for foreign enterprises in general, and US enterprises in particular such as Meta, to succeed in Vietnam in the spirit of "harmonizing interests, sharing risks", "listening, understanding, sharing vision and action, working together, winning together, enjoying and developing together, sharing joy, happiness and pride".
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the practical and effective contributions of Meta as well as Mr. Nick Clegg personally to Vietnam's economic development and Vietnam-US relations, especially in the fields of digital economy, innovation, education and training, as well as Meta's upcoming efforts in promoting cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the localization of the Meta AI tool.
The Prime Minister said that the Vietnamese Government protects the legitimate and legal rights and interests, supports and creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Meta Group, to invest and do business effectively within the framework of the law; at the same time, ensures sufficient clean electricity for investors.
Vietnam is also building a Data Law, building a National Data Center, building open institutions, transparent infrastructure and smart governance to facilitate development, especially in emerging and high-tech fields.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister suggested that Meta Group continue to discuss with Vietnamese agencies and partners, especially the National Innovation Center, to promote the implementation of specific cooperation activities in the fields of: Science and technology, education and training, innovation, AI, Internet of Things (IoT) ...; technology transfer, continue to support Vietnamese enterprises, organizations and individuals to participate in the value chain and online platforms and applications of Meta.
Along with that, strengthen coordination with Vietnamese authorities to prevent bad/toxic, false information; deploy solutions and measures to protect users on social networks, prevent and combat online fraud, etc.; strictly comply with legal regulations and contribute to Vietnam in building and perfecting legal regulations. Regarding some of the contents discussed and proposed by Meta, the Prime Minister suggested continuing to closely coordinate with Vietnamese authorities to research and resolve.
