According to Master Pham Thi Phuong Thuc, Center for Psychology and Education Research (Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences), the demands that teachers and parents place on students make them feel anxious and stressed. Traditional teaching methods often create higher pressure because they only focus on academic performance without paying attention to students' psychology and abilities, leading to many negative consequences both physically and mentally.

Excessive pressure can cause students to cope negatively and lead to decreased academic performance, cheating on exams, truancy, and increased school bullying...

Sharing about this issue, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Vice Principal of the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi said: We are living in a world of pressure. Parents are under pressure, teachers are under pressure, children are also under pressure. Therefore, it is important that parents and teachers equip children with skills to develop capacity and improve their ability to adapt to pressure, helping children face pressure more positively.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, Principal of Tan Tien Secondary School (Chuong My District, Hanoi City) said: The school aims to build a friendly learning environment, encouraging students' initiative and creativity. To reduce stress in learning, teachers should apply flexible teaching methods, helping students approach lessons in a gentle and practical way. In addition, organizing many extracurricular activities, psychological counseling and career guidance helps students develop their personal strengths, balancing between study and life.

According to Vice President of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights Ha Dinh Bon, pressure can occur for many reasons and cause unpredictable harm, affecting the physical and mental health of children. If parents put pressure on their children to achieve high scores, win first prizes, become champions or winners in competitions beyond their abilities, leading to consequences for their children's mental health, it can also be considered a violation of children's rights.

However, the level of violations in this area is often abstract, intersecting, making it difficult to determine the parents' fault; parents even justify their behavior as right. Therefore, when children are under pressure, they will suffer many disadvantages because the line between right and wrong, between love and abuse of love is very fragile, children find it difficult to find sympathy and timely sharing.

According to education experts, when the educational environment is oriented towards comprehensive development, respects individuals and encourages creativity, students will have the opportunity to develop both intellectually and emotionally. Therefore, families, schools and society need to work together to build a positive learning environment where students can learn, explore and develop to their full potential instead of just chasing after the pressure of achievement.

Comrade Ha Dinh Bon proposed: The State needs to continue to improve the system of policies and laws on child protection and care, such as developing and promulgating a mechanism to synchronously and fully implement all children's rights, not taking any rights lightly, and ensuring that all rights are implemented harmoniously and reasonably. For educational institutions, it is necessary to fully implement the law on education and the system of policies and laws on child protection and care; not to put pressure on children and their families; to carry out educational reforms, and to apply science and technology to teaching.

Along with that, the State and agencies and organizations need to develop, compile and train parents and children on skills, child psychology; skills to protect, care for and educate children. For families, parents must understand and synchronously and harmoniously implement children's rights according to the principle of "Taking children as the center, giving the best to children" and listening to and responding to children's aspirations. Parents must fulfill their responsibility to nurture and educate their children to become useful citizens for society, to keep up with and adapt to the current scientific and technological revolution.

From the perspective of a state management agency, Deputy Director of the General Education Department (Ministry of Education and Training) Ta Ngoc Tri said: “In recent times, the education sector has innovated the textbook program, shifting teaching and learning from the method of imparting knowledge to focusing on developing skills and qualities. The Ministry of Education and Training also launched the emulation movement to build friendly schools and active students. Parents need to determine that students go to school to be happy, not to achieve achievements, and care about their children's internal progress."
