Farmstay - also known as "farm accommodation" or "farm resort", is a tourism model combined with agricultural experiences, where tourists can relax and participate in activities such as farming, harvesting, processing agricultural products and shopping directly at the farm. Not simply a new tourism trend, farmstay plays a role as a bridge between tourists, accessing local agricultural products, contributing to promoting the consumption of OCOP products and regional specialties.
With a cool climate all year round and rich soil, Moc Chau is an ideal land for agricultural development with many types of crops and livestock. Not only that, the land is also a place where the cultural identities of 12 ethnic groups converge, convenient for exploiting experiential tourism, including the farmstay model. Thanks to the ability to combine relaxation, experience and cultural exploration, farmstay attracts many types of tourists, from children to adults, especially families and international tourists looking for journeys connected with nature and indigenous life.
The Farmstay of 19/5 Agricultural Development Service Cooperative, located in Chieng Di residential area, Binh Minh ward, is attracting many tourists to experience. Coming here, tourists can immerse themselves in the fresh air with lush green tea hills and the pure white color of pear and plum blossoms every spring.
Sharing with us, Mr. Mai Duc Trong, representative of the cooperative, said: The farmstay area provides full services of dining, accommodation, relaxation, bathing and herbal foot bath. At the same time, it gives visitors the opportunity to directly participate in agricultural activities. Depending on the season of the year, visitors can experience strawberry picking, grape picking, taking care of chickens, rabbits or watering vegetables and harvesting agricultural products with local people.
The Farmstay of the 19/5 Agricultural Development Service Cooperative integrates the processing workshop and OCOP product display area, creating conditions for visitors to directly experience the production process and enjoy local specialties right at the production site. Products such as Moc Chau tea, mint honey, cow's milk, dried plums, apple wine... not only serve the needs of visitors but also become special gifts with the bold flavors of the highlands.
Coming with her family to experience the resort at the Farmstay of the Agricultural Development Service Cooperative 19/5, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Anh, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: I am very impressed with the natural landscape as well as the processed agricultural products of Moc Chau. Being immersed in the fresh air helps my family have quiet and relaxing moments, return to nature, regain energy and balance life after a series of stressful working days.
Moc Chau currently has 8 farmstays. To develop and maintain operations, the farmstays focus on using environmentally friendly materials, limiting concreting and preserving the natural landscape. At the same time, they control service quality, support connecting farmstays with OCOP products, and create value chains associated with agriculture and indigenous culture.
The farmstay model in Moc Chau not only brings a resort experience but also opens up opportunities to consume OCOP products as well as local specialties in a sustainable way. Instead of depending on the supermarket system or traditional markets, Moc Chau's specialty products can directly reach tourists, helping to enhance brand recognition and expand the market. The combination of experiential tourism and product commercialization not only increases the value of agricultural products, but also creates a unique mark, making Moc Chau agricultural tourism attractive and different.
