Mobilized over 300 people to put out the fire

At around 4:00 p.m. on April 5, a fire broke out in Hai Mountain, Chieng An Ward, adjacent to Tong Village, Chieng Xom Commune, Son La City. By 7:45 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.

Immediately after receiving the news, the City Forest Protection Department coordinated with the People's Committee of Chieng An Ward, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Team, the Provincial Police, and the Hai Village Management Board to mobilize forces and people to participate in firefighting and at the same time clear a firebreak to contain the fire. Because the fire area was located on a high, steep cliff, and the Loi tree was dry, the fire broke out strongly, making it difficult to approach and control the fire;

At around 5:00 p.m., the People's Committee of Chieng An Ward and the City Forest Protection Department reported to the City People's Committee and the Son La Provincial Forest Protection Department to request the mobilization of additional forces and establish a firefighting command post. At 6:30 p.m. on April 5, 2025, the firefighting force consisted of 300 people, including: Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, Provincial Police; Military forces of the City and Provincial Military Command; Mobile Forest Protection and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 1, City Forest Protection Department; militia forces of the commune and people of Ban Hai, urgently focused on fighting the fire.

At 7:00 p.m., due to the darkness and the risk of rolling rocks, to ensure the safety of the firefighters, the Fire Command Department requested the mobile firefighting forces to go to the area near the houses, proactively take measures to evacuate and guard against the fire spreading to other areas. At 7:15 p.m., heavy rain began to fall and at 7:45 p.m., the fire was controlled and extinguished.

Initial reports indicate that the fire damaged an area of ​​approximately 1.5 hectares, currently a rocky area with Loi trees and reeds. The cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities./.
