Exempting tuition fees helps reduce the burden on parents, while also creating more motivation for students to study hard, aiming for a solid future.

The Politburo has decided to exempt all tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school nationwide, starting from the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026. This information has received support and agreement from students, parents and schools.
* Student Dinh Nguyen Ky Phong (University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh City National University):
Parents do not have to run around paying tuition fees for their children.
I think the tuition exemption policy for students is appropriate and listens to the opinions of students and parents. My family has two siblings, now exempting tuition for my younger sibling will also reduce the burden on my parents.
I believe that this new point will bring positive signs to the country's education. Students will not feel self-conscious when their teachers remind them to pay their tuition fees, and parents will not have to scramble to pay their children's tuition fees.
I still hope there will be some support for students. Tuition for a student, whether public or private, is still high, even higher than the average income of many families today.
Many policies on loans and tuition exemptions for students have been applied. However, I think the impact and scope of support are not wide, and the number of students who have to postpone their studies because they cannot afford tuition fees is still high.
If the State considers and has appropriate and long-term solutions for this group, I think it will improve the situation of students dropping out of school and working part-time regardless of their health, affecting the quality of students' study and research.
* Teacher Vo Kim Bao (Nguyen Du Secondary School, District 1, HCMC):
Good news
I am very excited about the Politburo’s decision to exempt tuition fees for public school students. This can be said to be good news, a sign of improvement for the country’s education. At the same time, this shows that the Party and State always consider education as the top national policy.
Free tuition for students is something that developed countries have been doing. That shows that our country's economy has made great strides, a brilliant milestone that deserves to be recorded in the history of education. Sending children to school also helps parents to reduce some of the burden, especially for families in difficult circumstances who have to raise many children.
However, not charging tuition fees will affect the budget to some extent. I think there are many families who can afford to pay for their children’s education. Whether or not tuition fees are exempted will not affect the economy of those families.
Therefore, I think we need to promote the development of scholarship funds so that families with conditions can share some of the difficulties with poor children who do not have as many favorable conditions for studying as other children.
* Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu (Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City):
Equality in access to education
I fully support the decision to exempt tuition fees for public students from the 2025-2026 school year. This is a meaningful policy that will significantly reduce the financial burden on parents, especially low-income families or families with many children.
When parents are no longer worried about tuition fees, they can focus more on investing in other learning needs for their children such as books, learning equipment or skills courses. This will create more equality in access to education and help students have more comprehensive development opportunities.
In addition to free tuition, I think there should be more policies to invest heavily in science and technology in general education. Vietnamese students have great potential for creativity.
Currently, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programs are not yet implemented uniformly in many schools. The government should allocate part of its budget to equip more laboratories, digital libraries, practice equipment and programs to encourage scientific research for students.
This not only helps students access modern knowledge, but also creates conditions for them to develop creative thinking and prepare for the digital economy of the future.
* Mr. Nguyen Phuc Vien (Principal of Cho Gao High School, Tien Giang):
Expected to improve local quality
I appreciate the decision to exempt tuition fees for public school students from September 2025. This is a very humane policy, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for education, especially for families in difficult circumstances.
At Cho Gao High School, many parents are farmers with unstable incomes, so exempting tuition fees will help reduce their financial burden and allow their children to go to school with peace of mind. Exempting tuition fees not only helps reduce the rate of school dropouts due to economic difficulties but also improves the overall quality of education in the locality.
I hope the government will have more policies to support students in remote areas. Many students not only face difficulties with tuition fees but also lack learning conditions - from books, technology equipment to transportation.
In particular, it is necessary to invest more in school infrastructure, build dormitories, support meals for poor students and develop scholarship programs to give them better learning opportunities. If digital education projects can be expanded and online learning devices can be provided, students in remote areas will also have the opportunity to access modern knowledge like students in the city.
* Mr. Nguyen Huu Truong (Principal of Go Cong Dong High School, Tien Giang):
Practical meaning
The school is extremely excited about the policy of exempting tuition fees for students, a meaningful and practical policy. Currently, the school has more than 150 students with difficult circumstances, and every year the school has to mobilize support from benefactors to help them continue to go to class. Exempting tuition fees will significantly reduce the burden on parents and students, while creating more motivation for students to study hard, aiming for a stable future.
Surely parents and students in the school will be very happy when this policy is implemented. This is not only financial support but also shows the State's concern for the young generation - the future owners of the country.
The school's pedagogical council believes that with progressive policies on education, our country is entering an era of strong development, bringing more opportunities for learning and better welfare for the people.
