The strongest cold spell since the beginning of the season is gradually ending as temperatures rise and the sky becomes sunny. It is forecasted that in the next week, the North will see two consecutive new spells, with the possibility of strong cold air on December 6.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 1-2 days, cold air will continue to strengthen and diffuse to the South. Northeast winds in the sea area east of the South will operate with strong intensity.
In the next 3-10 days, the cold air will weaken and gradually move eastward, around 2/12 it will be weakly strengthened and 6/12 it will be strong towards the north of our country. The northeast wind will be strong in the sea off the Southeast, from 1/12 onwards the northeast wind will slightly decrease in intensity. Above, the subtropical high pressure will be stable, then gradually lift its axis to the north.
At the same time, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also announced the weather in regions across the country from tonight (November 28) to about the next 10 days.
From tonight to November 30, the Northwest, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have rain in some places, fog in some places in the early morning, sunny in the afternoon; cold at night and in the morning.
In the Northeast, there will be no rain at night, some places will have fog in the early morning, and sunny days; cold at night and in the morning. The temperature in the region tends to increase gradually to 26-27 degrees during the day, but at night it will be cold at 16-17 degrees.
From Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa, tonight and tomorrow morning (November 29) there will be scattered rain; later there will be rain in some places. The remaining areas across the country will have scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Assessing the weather situation further, the meteorological agency said that from the night of November 30 to December 8, there will be rain in some places in the North, especially on December 5-6, there will be scattered rain; the night and morning will be cold; from December 1-4, the night and morning will be cold. From about December 5-6, the North is likely to turn cold; at this time, the temperature both day and night will drop sharply.
The North and Central Central regions from around November 2 will have scattered rain and showers. In particular, from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai from December 6, when cold air flows down, there will be rain and showers, with some places having heavy rain.
Other regions such as the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; from the evening of December 4, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Previously, commenting on this year's winter, experts said that from late November to December, cold air is likely to be active and cause severe cold spells; it is necessary to be on guard against the possibility of prolonged spells, especially in the northern mountainous areas, accompanied by frost and ice.
“The phenomenon of severe cold in the Northern region is likely to appear widely from the second half of December (equivalent to the average of many years),” experts noted.
