MG4 EV is sluggish in Vietnam, "price drops dramatically" by nearly 300 million

The price of the MG4 EV Lux version is now only 650 million VND. However, this incentive only applies to MG4 EV manufactured in 2024. Therefore, the quantity and color of the car will be limited. This is only an incentive from some dealers.

MG only offers customers who buy MG4 EV a 7 kW charger and free charging for one year at public charging stations of the company's third-party partners. MG4 EV will officially launch in the Vietnamese market as a completely imported car from China in June 2024.

MG4 EV in Vietnam is sold in 2 versions, DEL and LUX, with listed prices of 828 million and 948 million VND respectively. The high price, along with the lack of charging station infrastructure, makes the car quite picky about buyers.

The electric MG4 EV has a compact overall design with many delicate lines, creating flexibility and ease of movement in narrow urban areas. According to the announcement, the MG4 has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,287 mm, 1,836 mm and 1,504 mm respectively with a wheelbase of 2,705 mm.

The front end is simply designed with the highlight being the central air vents placed below along with a large MG logo. Details such as the side panels, A, B, C pillars and mirror covers are painted black to contrast with the exterior paint color.

The rear of this electric car impresses with its dual sporty spoiler placed above. The rear lights are designed with unique LED borders. In terms of interior, the cabin space is designed with a minimalist inspiration, focusing on the maximum experience for the driver.

The car has a 2-spoke steering wheel, a 7-inch digital clock cluster that is placed in a sophisticated way, along with a large 10.25-inch touch screen entertainment screen. In terms of safety equipment, this model is integrated with the MG Pilot driver assistance system with many features such as potential collision warning, emergency lane keeping assist, drowsiness warning, etc.

Powering the MG4 EV is a 170 horsepower and 250 Nm electric motor in the DEL version. The corresponding figures for the LUX version are 201 horsepower and 250 Nm. The car uses rear-wheel drive and has 5 driving modes, including Standard, Sport, Custom, Snow, and Economy.

The One Pedal function will help the driver control the vehicle with just one pedal. In the standard DEL version, the vehicle uses a 51 kWh battery, so the travel distance after a full charge is 350 km.

Meanwhile, the LUX version has a 64 kWh battery, providing a range of 450 km. MG4 EV users can charge the battery at home or at public charging stations operated by independent suppliers, except VinFast.
