The prestigious Time magazine has just announced the list of the 100 best destinations in the world in 2025. In which, the first metro line of Ho Chi Minh City is honored to become the only representative of Vietnam to appear in this prestigious ranking.

This is the 7th year the magazine has published a list of ideal destinations with the following criteria: Relevance, Impact, Innovation and Success.
This list includes 100 selected locations from around the world, in many different categories such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruises, attractions...
Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) of Ho Chi Minh City is one of 21 destinations in Asia selected by Time, affirming the attraction of this modern transportation system to international tourists.
According to Time, this project is expected to help reduce traffic congestion and pollution in Ho Chi Minh City, while creating favorable conditions for tourists and residents to travel quickly and conveniently.
Notable locations that visitors can easily access by this metro line include the City Theater, Nguyen Hue walking street, Bui Vien night street as well as Suoi Tien Tourist Area, Ho Chi Minh City National University Village.
Since its inauguration, Metro Line 1 has served more than 5 million passengers. With its high frequency of operation, this system not only helps reduce pressure on roads but also brings a modern and safe public transport experience to people.
Time assessed the operation of metro line 1 as an important achievement of Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to improving the quality of urban life and promoting tourism development.
The city is currently completing procedures to convert capital sources for metro line 2, expected to be completed in April 2025.
Metro Line 2 will play an important role in expanding the public transport network, connecting more deeply with other areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, other metro lines are also planned to be implemented in the 2025-2027 period with site clearance work expected to be completed in 2027.
Experts say that when the metro system is completed, Ho Chi Minh City will have a modern transportation network on par with major cities in the region.
