Developing science and technology (S&T), innovation and digital transformation are mandatory choices, the only way to develop the country and improve people's lives.
That was the statement of General Secretary To Lam, at the meeting of the Politburo and the Secretariat to listen to the report on updating knowledge and giving opinions to complete the Special Topic on Breakthrough in Science and Technology Development, Innovation, and Digital Transformation. This is a specific activity, affirming the highest determination of the Party and State leaders to successfully implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on Breakthrough in Science and Technology Development, Innovation, and National Digital Transformation.
According to the General Secretary, in the coming time, we must strongly implement to achieve the two highest goals: Better social governance and must go into production, increasing labor productivity. However, up to now, it has mainly been applied to social governance, not paying due attention to bringing it into the production process to increase labor productivity. In reality, private enterprises are very quick to approach these issues and organize implementation very flexibly and effectively, contributing to improving the ability to manage enterprises, manage data and increase productivity and product quality; therefore, it is necessary to stick to reality to expand the approach.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Special Report on Breakthroughs in Science and Technology Development, Innovation, and Digital Transformation is very important, contributing to a full and profound understanding of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo.
In the context of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution, Vietnam needs to apply science and technology to compete with countries in the region and the world. Only technological innovation and investment in research and development (R&D) can help businesses and the economy not fall behind. Experience from developed countries has proven that science and technology is a decisive factor in helping the economy make a breakthrough, reducing dependence on natural resources and cheap labor. In addition, autonomy in science and technology helps Vietnam better control the economy, ensure national security and sustainable development. Science and technology also contributes to the development of healthcare, education, transportation, smart cities, helping people have a better life.
Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW is considered a revolution that changes from awareness to content and working methods in state management agencies. This is a very good signal not only for the science and technology community, but also for all people and businesses in the context that the whole country is making efforts to achieve the goals set by 2030 and 2045.
