“Managing historical relics must be linked to the trend of contemporary development, opening up development space to promote values in harmony with society,” Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan suggested at the inspection of historical and cultural relics in Ca Mau City on the afternoon of April 9.
Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan and leaders of provincial agencies inspected the current status of national historical and cultural relics in Ward 2, including: Hong Anh Thu Quan and Nha Day Thep.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan (left cover) inspected and visited the historical-cultural relic Hong Anh Thu Quan and discussed and suggested to the Director of the Provincial Museum, Mr. Le Minh Son (management unit) about what needs to be done immediately to promote the value of the relic.
Currently, the national historical and cultural relic Hong Anh Thu Quan is seriously degraded because it is over 100 years old, making it difficult to promote its historical and cultural values, especially the safety of visitors. As for the historical and cultural relic Nha Day Thep, it is currently in the process of restoration and renovation, and will soon be put back into operation.
The Hong Anh Thu Quan relic is located at 43 Pham Van Ky Street, Ward 2, built in the early 20th century under the French district chief Metaye. This is a house in a row of 2-storey houses used as a restaurant and bedroom named Asia. In the early 20s of the 20th century, when the revolutionary movement rose up all over the country, the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association branch called Hong Anh Thu Quan was formed in this house. The main task of Hong Anh Thu Quan was to propagate Marxism-Leninism to the people, especially patriotic youth, and to prepare all favorable conditions for the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Ca Mau. Hong Anh Thu Quan used to be the branch's bookstore, providing progressive books and newspapers, including "Tu ban luan" by Marx and Engels.
Regarding the Steel Wire House Relic (located on Le Loi Street, Ward 2, Ca Mau City), it was originally a French colonial post office built around 1910. During the struggle against French colonialism in the 1930s, revolutionary soldiers used this place as a contact point and from here the party bases in Ca Mau increasingly developed. It was also from the Steel Wire House contact point that instructions from superiors reached party cells and party members, promptly focusing on directing the struggle line, launching the struggle among the masses, achieving many victories.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan inspected and visited the historical and cultural relic of the Steel Wire House.
In order to promote the value of relics in general and in Ca Mau City in particular, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that in the repair and renovation to ensure safety, it is necessary to base on the prototype, without deviation because this is a historical - cultural relic. In order for the relic to promote its value and be closer to social life, it is necessary to promote socialization to create space for development...
