Quang Binh focuses on construction to finish the North-South expressway

At km676+800, the starting point of the Van Ninh-Cam Lo component project, connecting Quang Binh with Quang Tri, the construction unit is deploying the final asphalt layers. Currently, there are about 150 workers and nearly 100 machines and vehicles operating very urgently on the route. It is expected that the entire route will be basically completed so that it can be technically opened to traffic before April 30 this year.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Project Manager of Construction Package 01, Van Ninh-Cam Lo Component Project, said that the unit has deployed overtime and increased shifts to ensure the project's progress. In addition, the contractor, Truong Thinh Group and the leadership also care about the lives of the staff and workers to promptly encourage them to "overcome the sun and rain" to complete the final stages of the project.

At present, the entire Van Ninh-Cam Lo component project has basically completed about 92% of the volume; the remaining 2km coinciding with the Ho Chi Minh trail, the contractor is implementing the construction of crushed stone and cement reinforcement, striving to spread asphalt concrete before April 25. At the completed road locations on the route, the contractor is focusing on constructing the residential access road on both sides, handling anti-slip treatment of positive slopes and installing guardrails.

Mr. Luu Tuan Tuan, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, said that to overcome the difficulties caused by unfavorable weather conditions after Tet, the contractor is currently directing the simultaneous acceleration of construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams; deploying all teams at the construction site to compensate for the delayed progress due to the weather, striving to complete the entire route before April 30.

At the Vung Ang-Bung Component Project, the Cu Nam intersection in Bo Trach district at Km626+690 connecting to the Vung Ang-Bung project is currently being constructed by workers. This is the largest intersection among all three intersections on the expressway and is being constructed by the 36 Corporation. From this intersection, vehicles can move to the East branch of Ho Chi Minh Road to go to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Long, Commander of Corporation 36-CTCP, said that the unit is in charge of constructing the Cu Nam intersection and 6km of the main route of the Bung-Van Ninh project. Currently, the unit's output has reached about 75%, and it is expected that by April 26, all items can open to traffic on the main route. At many locations on the route, the system of signs, gantry cranes, line markings, protective fences, anti-glare nets, and hard dividers have been installed.

According to Cienco4 Group Joint Stock Company, the unit in charge of constructing more than 15km of the main route and two major intersections, Viet Trung (Bo Trach district) and Nhat Le intersection (Dong Hoi city). Up to this point, the main route has basically completed the asphalt concrete, the volume of Viet Trung intersection has reached 85%, the Nhat Le intersection is constructing the foundation and road surface. On the route, there are still some locations where workers are placing stakes to install corrugated iron, signs, etc.

Mr. Hoang Dang Cuong, Director of the Department of Construction, said that to ensure the progress of the North-South Expressway project through the province, the Department has coordinated with the investor, construction unit and localities to complete the resolution of problems such as underpasses, drainage systems, and technical infrastructure systems on the route.

The North-South Expressway project through Quang Binh province is 124.28km long, passing through 6 districts, towns, cities and 35 communes and wards, including 3 component projects: Vung Ang-Bung section is 42.44km long, Bung-Van Ninh section is 48.84km long and Van Ninh-Cam Lo section is 33km long.

Currently, contractors and investors have committed to completing the main route by April 30 this year and by June 30, the entire route from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri will be open to traffic. With smooth roads, crossing mountains and lakes, the North-South expressway section through Quang Binh is considered a route with beautiful scenery, and people are eagerly waiting for the day the expressway opens to traffic, opening up new opportunities for sustainable development of the locality.
