Revealing the entire Long Thanh airport super project

Long Thanh airport construction investment project is built on an area of 5,000 hectares in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province.

The airport was built to level 4F, is an important international airport of our country, aiming to become one of the regional aviation transit centers.

The project has a capacity of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year. Of which, phase 1 has a capacity of 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year.

The total estimated investment for the entire project is about 16.06 billion USD, of which phase 1 is 5.45 billion USD.

The project uses part of the budget capital, official development assistance (ODA) capital, capital from equitization of state-owned enterprises in the aviation industry and other types of capital according to the provisions of law.

Currently, at the Long Thanh airport construction project site, there are nearly 4,000 domestic and international engineers and workers with more than 2,000 machines working day and night to speed up the construction of the packages.

Currently, important packages are being accelerated, speeding up progress, including: Package 5.10 - construction of Long Thanh airport passenger terminal, considered the heart of the project and Package 4.6 - construction, equipment installation and design of construction drawings for runways, taxiways, aircraft parking lots and other works.

The Passenger Terminal construction package is considered the heart of phase 1 of the Long Thanh airport project with a total capital of more than 35 trillion VND. Construction started on August 31, 2023, will take 39 months and be completed in early 2026. At the construction site, there are more than 2,200 people and 493 construction equipment working day and night in "3 shifts, 4 teams". The progress so far is basically guaranteed compared to the set plan.

In package 4.6 - construction and installation of equipment for runways, taxiways, aircraft parking lots and other works, contractors have mobilized more than 900 personnel and machinery to serve the construction. Regarding the progress of the runway project, phase 1 of Long Thanh airport is expected to be completed before April 30, 2025, about 3 months shorter than the original schedule of July 30, 2025.

Long Thanh airport runway phase 1 is 4km long.

Workers are busy constructing the runway on the morning of March 14.

Contractors took advantage of the peak dry season to speed up progress, working day and night "3 shifts, 4 shifts".

Along with the above two packages, the Long Thanh Airport Air Control Tower project is also being accelerated. The lotus-shaped project, with 23 floors (123m high), nearly 10m in diameter, is built to control aircraft operations at Long Thanh Airport and in the airspace.

Workers are constructing the Long Thanh airport control tower.

Long Thanh Airport Air Control Tower is expected to be completed in 2025.

The connecting routes No. 1 and No. 2 to Long Thanh airport are also being accelerated to ensure completion and synchronization when the airport is completed and put into use.

According to the schedule, Long Thanh airport phase 1 will be completed, put into trial operation in June 2026 and officially put into operation in September 2026.
