First prize winner of Long Thanh airport urban planning idea receives 2 billion VND in prize money

Three prizes were awarded to units with excellent and suitable ideas to develop a general urban plan for Long Thanh airport and surrounding areas.

On February 21, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee held an announcement and awarded prizes for the international competition "General urban planning ideas for Long Thanh airport and surrounding areas".

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the project with code LT.09 of the consortium of the National Institute of Architecture - Nihon Sekkei, Inc (Japan) - CONINCO Construction Technology, Equipment and Inspection Consulting Joint Stock Company (VIAR-NS-CONINCO consortium) with a prize value of 2 billion VND.

The second prize was awarded to the project coded LT.07 by the consortium of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. - Urban Design Research Institute - Nippon Koei Vietnam International Co., Ltd. with a value of 1 billion VND. The third prize worth 500 million VND was awarded to the project coded LT.10 by the consortium of Nikken Sekkei LTD - National Institute of Urban and Rural Planning.

The Organizing Committee also awarded an encouragement prize to the project with code LT.01 of the consortium of Southern Institute of Construction Planning - Green Space Architecture and Planning LLC - KCAP Architecture and Planning LLC - G8A Architecture and Urban Planning LLC - Arup Vietnam LLC

According to the Department of Construction, the standing agency of the Organizing Committee, the competition aims to find and select the most optimal planning solution, maximizing potential advantages and improving land use efficiency in the area of ​​Long Thanh International Airport, meeting the requirements for sustainable socio-economic development of Long Thanh Airport urban area.

The competition had 11 participants from many countries participating with creative and impressive ideas. The winning plans were all dedicated plans, forming good ideas, helping to develop land funds, and exploit diverse urban areas of the airport.

Based on the winning idea, the Department of Construction and related units will continue to edit and supplement to perfect the idea content, and include it in the Long Thanh urban master plan adjustment project until 2045, in accordance with the Long Thanh urban master plan task approved by the Prime Minister.

On the same day, the Department of Construction (the agency organizing the competition) also organized the second round of judging for the competition "ideas for planning to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an Urban - Commercial - Service Area in An Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City".

The competition was launched from November 4 to December 2, 2024. During this time, the Organizing Committee received 11 entries from 11 consulting units.
