From above, Ta Pua Pass looks like a giant python winding through the deep green hills. After the first rain of the season, the sky is bright again, but there are still white clouds floating between the top of the pass, obscuring the kilometer markers on the side of the road.
The most beautiful is when the sky is clear and the sunlight is gentle, from the top of Ta Pua Pass, travelers can see the vast golden rice fields of Duc Linh and Tanh Linh valleys. It is only a small pass with a length of more than 2 kilometers, but it winds and weaves between the hillsides, with some steep turns like "elbows" that look spectacular. At the foot of the pass are forest trees, fruit trees, and sweet fruits all year round interwoven in the vast rice fields; in the distance are mountains under the clear blue sky, the colors of nature are like a beautiful painting. Not only that, the countryside space here is airy, poetic and peaceful.
Mr. Pham Hoang - a local Ta Pua (village 5, Duc Phu commune - Tanh Linh) who went with us shared: "Previously, the K'ho ethnic people called the pass Ba Sa, located on the DT 713 route to Bao Loc city, but later the pass was renamed after the Ta Pua stream. This stream flows north to the Da Huoai river in the Dong Nai river system. On the Ta Pua stream, there is a pristine waterfall with great potential for tourism development...".
Nowadays, the sliding waterfall along with the scenic Ta Pua pass is an attractive destination for many travelers and pilgrims. Right near the top of Ta Pua pass, on weekends, local people and travelers ride motorbikes along the trail into the old forest to explore the sliding waterfall. Although the waterfall is still wild, located in the middle of an ancient forest, it is also known by many people. The waterfall here is not like Ba waterfall or Dau Trau waterfall in Tanh Linh district. Because countless large rocks have been eroded by water over time, becoming flat like a board, up to a few dozen meters long, the slope difference is not large, the stream water overflows the rock surface, at the end of the rock is a clear blue lake that is deeper than the belly. Therefore, many people come to the waterfall to use the rock as a place to play, sitting in succession sliding from above into the lake; the voices, the cheerful laughter mixed with the sound of flowing water, birds chirping, making the mountains and forests more bustling and interesting. However, in the rainy season, the water over the waterfall is quite large, playing sliding waterfall is somewhat dangerous. In the dry season, the water in Ta Pua stream is not much, the small stream is separated by large rocks, the water flows through the deep green forest canopy. On the large flat rocks, travelers set up tents, camp, play, chat happily... forgetting all the worries of daily life.
Travelers who have the opportunity to travel to Binh Thuan to explore the beautiful landscapes and new things of the sea should take the time to conquer the spectacular Ta Pua pass and experience waterfall sliding under the majestic old forest. Travelers will certainly have a beautiful impression of a gentle, poetic natural picture and a spectacular pass in the last land of the Truong Son range.
