Dak Lak responds to 25 years of Voluntary Blood Donation Day

On April 8, in Krong Nang district, the Dak Lak Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee coordinated with the Krong Nang District Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to organize a ceremony to celebrate the 25th anniversary of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7, 2000 - April 7, 2025).

Comrade Dang Thi Huong - Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, President of the Provincial Red Cross Society spoke at the ceremony.

On April 7, 2000, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 43/2000/QD-TTg to mobilize and encourage people to donate blood voluntarily and to take April 7 as the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. In recent years, the voluntary blood donation movement in the whole country in general and in Dak Lak province in particular has increasingly spread, meeting the demand for blood for emergency and treatment of patients. The number of people registering to donate blood and the units of blood collected each year have increased in both quantity and quality.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Dang Thi Huong - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, President of the Provincial Red Cross Society said that with the message "Donate blood, give life", after 25 years, with the efforts of all levels, sectors, the enthusiasm of volunteers and people, the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day has become a place where people gather with kind hearts, sharing blood drops for the sick.

Awarding Certificates of Merit to outstanding individuals in the voluntary blood donation movement.

In addition to mobilizing voluntary blood donation, at the 2025 Voluntary Blood Donation Festival, the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee also mobilized volunteers to register to donate tissues, organs and human body parts.

On behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, Comrade Dang Thi Huong respectfully thanks and expresses gratitude to individuals who have donated blood, tissues, organs and body parts. These are shining examples of good people - good deeds, joining hands to build a compassionate community, bringing opportunities to many patients and happiness to many families.

At the ceremony, the Central Standing Committee of the Red Cross Society awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of the Society and the Red Cross Society movement for two consecutive years 2023 - 2024. The Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation presented registration cards for donating human tissues, organs and body parts to 3 individuals in Krong Nang district. At the same time, Certificates of Merit were awarded to 2 groups and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement in 2024. The People's Committee of Krong Nang district awarded Certificates of Merit to 35 individuals with outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement in 2024.

Within the framework of the Ceremony to respond to the 25th anniversary of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, more than 600 volunteers in Krong Nang district participated in blood donation, collecting 543 units of blood to supplement the reserve, serving the emergency and medical needs of the people and 17 people registered to donate tissues, organs, and human body parts.
