Male patient NVH (born in 1967, residing in Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province) was transferred to Can Tho Central General Hospital on March 17 with a severe cough with white phlegm, sometimes mixed with blood for about 2 weeks. This condition recurred many times over a year, and he was treated in many places but the disease did not improve, so he was transferred to Can Tho Central General Hospital for treatment.

After being admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine, the chest X-ray results showed a solidification and cavitation in the lower lobe of the right lung. The chest CT scan results showed a foreign body in the bronchus of the lower lobe of the right lung, indicating a flexible bronchoscopy with anesthesia.
The results showed that the lower lobe of the right lung had a hard, rough foreign object causing inflammation and edema around it. The doctors successfully removed the foreign object, a piece of bone measuring 2.5x1.5cm long, with one end very sharp. After examining the lower lobe of the left lung, they continued to remove the foreign object, a second piece of bone measuring 1x1cm, and proceeded to clean it. The procedure was successful after 30 minutes.

By the afternoon of March 18, the patient was awake, his lungs were ventilated well, his symptoms of chest pain and cough had significantly reduced, his health was stable and he was being monitored and treated at the Department of Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine. After successfully removing 2 pieces of bone from his lungs, the male patient recalled that nearly 2 years ago, while eating duck meat, he had a bone stuck in his throat, but he did not see a doctor because he did not have any special symptoms. The cough and difficulty breathing only appeared 1 year ago and recurred many times.
