Specifically, regarding housing, a total of 21 houses in Nam Ma and Vo Lao communes (Van Ban district, Lao Cai) were damaged. Floodwaters flooded into people's houses, causing about 5.1 tons of rice to be inundated; 01 refrigerator to be damaged; 01 kitchen and toilet to be swept away; 02 tons of rice to be inundated and many other appliances to be damaged in Nam Ma commune.
Regarding agricultural production, the corn area damaged > 70% is 13.08 ha in Vo Lao commune, Nam Ma commune; the crop area damaged > 70% is 1.28 ha in Vo Lao commune; the cinnamon tree area from 2 to 4 years old is damaged 5.5 ha; 200 poultry were swept away by flood in Vo Lao commune; 1.5 ha of aquaculture ponds were damaged > 70%.
Regarding traffic works, floods have damaged 3 rural traffic works in Vo Lao commune and Nam Ma commune of Van Ban district. Floods have also damaged 01 irrigation project and 02 rural water supply projects in Nam Ma commune. The total estimated damage is more than 2 billion VND.
Immediately after the disaster, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Van Ban district directed Vo Lao and Nam Ma communes to mobilize local forces to clean up and reinforce houses and stabilize people's lives. At the same time, the commune police force was arranged to protect people's property. The People's Committees of the communes proactively directed local forces and people to overcome and restore damaged crop areas.
The People's Committee of Van Ban District (Lao Cai) has directed the People's Committee of the commune where the damage occurred to mobilize local forces to clean up landslides and clear sewers to ensure temporary safety and traffic for people and vehicles; directed specialized agencies to inspect and have a plan to promptly repair damaged domestic water supply works to serve the people's daily life.
