On the afternoon of April 2, 2025, the Office of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee issued an official dispatch informing the opinion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on organizing activities to celebrate the traditional Chol-chnam-thmay New Year.
According to the Official Dispatch, the province has a plan to support and create conditions for policy families, poor households, near-poor households of Khmer people and Khmer ethnic people to celebrate Tet. Allowing Khmer cadres, soldiers, workers and students to have 3 days off for Tet (from April 14 to 16) to reunite with their families. Along with that, Bac Lieu also builds a television reportage reflecting the socio-economic life in ethnic minority areas, organizes cultural - artistic, physical training - sports activities to serve Khmer people; organizes delegations to visit and wish Tet.

In particular, on April 9, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province are expected to meet with about 655 delegates, including Venerable Monks, Venerable Monks, Venerable Monks, Achars, Management Boards of Khmer Theravada Buddhist pagodas; cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and armed forces soldiers who are Khmer ethnic people who have retired and are working at provincial agencies and units, and Khmer ethnic students with excellent academic achievements in the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
* On the morning of April 3, a delegation of officials from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Lieu province visited Can Tho city to congratulate the Department of Local Affairs under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on the occasion of Chol-chnam-thmay 2025.
Here, Mr. To Thanh Phuong - Acting Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, head of the working delegation of Bac Lieu province, briefly informed: In 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, Bac Lieu basically completed the targets and tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense - security and foreign affairs. The work of arranging and streamlining the organization of the political system also met the requirements, progress and quality according to the regulations of the Central Government.
In that common achievement, there are contributions and assistance from the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions in general, directly from the department in charge of the Southern region under the Department of Local Affairs.
