On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27 (1947-2024), this afternoon, July 12, a delegation of Hai Phong City led by Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong City National Assembly Delegation Le Tien Chau organized activities to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and the National Martyrs' Cemeteries of Road 9 and Truong Son. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang attended.

Laying wreaths and offering incense at the Central Monument of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, the delegation of Hai Phong City respectfully bowed to remember and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives heroically in the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri Ancient Citadel in the fiery summer of 1972, contributing significantly to the victory at the Paris Conference negotiation table, creating momentum for the general offensive and uprising of the entire nation in the spring of 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere and with infinite gratitude, the delegates observed a minute of silence and respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs - the sons of all regions of the Fatherland who devoted their youth, blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the country and the happiness of the people - currently resting at the National Martyrs' Cemeteries of Road 9 and Truong Son.

After the incense offering ceremony at the main memorial, delegates went to burn incense on the graves of martyrs buried in cemeteries.
