Phalaenopsis orchids grown in Ha Tinh are about to be "offered" for Tet

Applying science and technology, the model of more than 60,000 Phalaenopsis orchids of Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited (Thanh Lan village, Thach Khe commune, Ha Tinh province) has a germination rate of over 99%.

The model of applying scientific and technological advances to produce Phalaenopsis orchids in Ha Tinh province is part of the Government's Program to support the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances to promote socio-economic development in rural, mountainous and ethnic minority areas in the 2016-2025 period.

The model covers an area of ​​2,500 ^m2 in Thanh Lan village, Thach Khe commune, implemented by Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited since the end of 2022. The initial investment scale of the platform and technology is more than 7.5 billion VND (excluding production and seed costs). The model is invested in a high level of automation in the production stage, especially automatic measurement (by sensors) and adjustment of light, air humidity, and substrate humidity according to technical standards...

During the implementation process, the model was supported by the Program for application support, transfer of scientific and technological advances to promote socio-economic development in rural, mountainous and ethnic minority areas with nearly 3 billion VND, including costs for technology transfer support, partial support for seeds and training and coaching on care techniques. After 1 year of implementation, the Phalaenopsis orchids developed and grew well; the flower spike germination rate reached over 99%, of which over 97% of flower spikes were of grade 1 quality.

Mr. Pham Van Huy - Director of Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited shared: With the strong application of science and technology, growing Phalaenopsis orchids in Ha Tinh - a place considered to have a harsh climate is still quite favorable. According to calculations, production costs in Ha Tinh can be more economical than in Da Lat - a region specializing in producing Phalaenopsis orchids.

To date, the company has sold more than 20,000 trees. In addition to the Ha Tinh market, there are also agents from Nghe An and Hanoi coming to learn about and place orders. Currently, the model is creating jobs for 5 regular workers and more than 20 seasonal workers with stable income.

Mr. Pham Van Huy - Director of Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited revealed that according to scientific research, Phalaenopsis orchids bloom when the weather is cold and the temperature difference between day and night is high, not due to stimulants. Therefore, with a high-tech greenhouse system, producers can stimulate flowers relatively simply by adjusting temperature, light and humidity. The most important thing is to determine the time to stimulate the flower to bloom during Tet.

At this time, the company is urgently preparing orders to serve the upcoming Lunar New Year market with 40,000 plants. It is expected that revenue in 2023 will reach about 7 billion VND. The company also plans to expand its scale and expand the Phalaenopsis orchid production model in 2024.
