For the first time, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has had two valedictorians graduate with a perfect score of 4.0/4.0 since applying this scoring method in 2007.
The two valedictorians graduating with absolute scores from Hanoi University of Science and Technology this year are Tran Trung Hieu (2002), a student majoring in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Nguyen The An (2002), a student majoring in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, School of Information Technology and Communications. Both have an overall GPA of 4.0/4.0, and an excellent GPA for their training. A representative of Hanoi University of Science and Technology said this is the first time the school has had a student achieve this score. Last year, the valedictorian of Hanoi University of Science and Technology graduated with an overall GPA of 3.93/4.0.

Currently, Tran Trung Hieu has won a full scholarship to do research at the Polytechnic Institute of Paris and is in France to continue his studies. The Hanoi boy has 1 scientific paper published at an international conference during his time as a student, related to Designing ground control points for precise landing when delivering goods by drone. Meanwhile, Nguyen The An is currently a research engineer at FPT Software, specializing in research in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The Bac Ninh boy has 2 co-authored papers that are being reviewed at the International Conference on Neural Network Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS 2024).Nguyen The An is currently an engineer specializing in research in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
In the near future, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will hold a graduation ceremony for more than 4,000 students. Of these, about 10% will graduate with Excellent grades.
