On the morning of May 18, at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Xiengvang village, Nong Bok district, Khammuone province (Laos), the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos coordinated with relevant agencies of Laos and Vietnam to organize an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023).

The ceremony was attended by delegations from the Embassy and agencies affiliated to the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos; the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet province; the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos; Vietnamese Associations in localities: Vientiane capital, Khammuon province, Savannakhet province; representatives of Khammuon province leaders and relevant agencies of Laos.
In a solemn atmosphere, the delegations took turns offering flowers and incense to commemorate and express their infinite gratitude and deep respect for the great President Ho Chi Minh.

Reviewing his activities and contributions to the people and nation of Vietnam and Laos, Mr. Phan Minh Chien, Counselor, representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, emphasized that this is an opportunity for everyone to be more grateful, proud, and loyal to the Fatherland, the people and the revolutionary cause of the Party, to strive to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; together with Lao friends, to be determined to preserve and further cultivate the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and people of Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and everlasting.
Mr. Pham Van Hung, Chairman of the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos, said that over the years, following Uncle Ho's teachings, the Vietnamese community in Laos has always played a good role as a bridge for Vietnam-Laos relations, with many activities towards the homeland, preserving the nation's fine traditional culture for future generations.

In the coming time, the Vietnamese community in Laos will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity to build a strong community in Laos, continue to preserve the national cultural identity, support and help each other in life, contribute to the socio-economic development of Laos and look towards the homeland.
During his lifetime, Uncle Ho always paid special attention to overseas Vietnamese. Turning to Uncle Ho is also a way for overseas Vietnamese in Laos to express their love for the Fatherland, with the desire to be ambassadors promoting the image, culture and people of Vietnam to the brotherly country of Laos and to be a bridge for the friendship and special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
The President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Xiengvang Village, Nong Bok District, Khammouan Province (Laos) is a cooperative project between the two Parties, two States and people of Vietnam and Laos. It marks the activities of President Ho Chi Minh and the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, aiming to educate the young generation today and tomorrow. This is also a respectful and important tourist destination for the history and culture of Khammouan Province in particular and Laos in general.
The project was built on an area of over 1.5 hectares, funded by the Lao Government's budget and non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government. The project was inaugurated and put into use on December 7, 2012.
