Celebrating 65 years of Science and Technology sector of Nghe An province

On the afternoon of October 25, Nghe An Department of Science and Technology held a ceremony to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the industry (October 25, 1959 - October 25, 2024). Attending the ceremony were comrade Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Science and Technology. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches and localities.

Overview of the ceremony.

To meet the requirements of local economic and social development, on October 25, 1959, the Nghe An Province Association for the Dissemination of Science and Technology was established. Through the process of formation and development, the science and technology sector has made important contributions to the development of the province.

That is to effectively serve the cause of building socialism in the North and the struggle for national reunification; heal the wounds of war; and carry out the renovation process. In 1991, Nghe Tinh province was divided, and the Science and Technology Committee of Nghe An province was established on August 30, 1991. Since then, the science and technology sector has contributed to the whole province in promoting industrialization, modernization, integration and development.

Appreciating the achievements and contributions of the science and technology sector to the development of Nghe An province over the past 65 years, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized: in the context of the 4.0 technology revolution, the whole country must continue to consistently implement the policies and orientations of the Party and the State to strongly develop science and technology and innovation, becoming the main driving force for economic growth. The Minister also requested the sector to continue to promote and improve the PII innovation index of Nghe An. Improve the quality of human resources in science and technology. Continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint of "Rapid and sustainable economic development based on the foundation of applying science and technology and innovation, digital transformation.

Agreeing with the assessments and directions directed by the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized: Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Nghe An province in the new period has identified the task of "creating a breakthrough in the development of science and technology". Therefore, the science and technology sector must focus on a number of key tasks. That is, focusing on advising on the effective implementation of directives, resolutions, and conclusions of the Central Government, directions of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the province on science and technology.

In the immediate future, advise the province to issue an Action Program to implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of science, technology and innovation by 2030. Continue to innovate state management, perfect mechanisms and policies to unleash resources to promote the development of science, technology and innovation. Enhance the potential of science, technology and innovation, ensuring the need for human resources in management. Promote international cooperation and linkages, promote the development of the science and technology market.

Department of Science and Technology awarded the Nghe An Open Innovation Startup Search Contest 2024

Previously, the Department of Science and Technology held the Award Ceremony of the Nghe An Open Innovation Startup Search Competition 2024 with the theme "8-year journey of Techfest Nghe An - Linking development". The Organizing Committee selected 20 projects with the highest scores to enter the final round. Of which, 10 outstanding innovative startup projects were awarded; including 4 Encouragement prizes, 3 Third prizes, 2 Second prizes and 1 First prize. The remaining 10 projects were recognized as Potential Startup Projects.
