The incident was determined to have taken place at 2:30 p.m. on August 28 at the Gymnasium of Vinh Hung Primary School (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi).

Specifically, during aerobics class, NNPL (student of class 5A3) had a conflict and was beaten by her classmate S., causing scratches on her face.

After a fight with a classmate, PL suffered many large scratches on his face, was psychologically affected, and has been absent from school for nearly 2 months.

After the incident, Ms. NTNA (mother of student PL) filed a report to Vinh Hung Ward Police asking for clarification of the matter.

Speaking with VietNamNet, Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Hang, Principal of Vinh Hung Primary School confirmed that the fight took place during the break between the first and second physical education periods on the afternoon of August 28.

Ms. Hang said that on September 6, the school received a request from Ms. NTNA (mother of NN.NPL) in class 5A3.

After receiving the application, the school took steps to respond to the parents' request. On the afternoon of September 17, the school held a meeting with the relevant parties to respond to NNPL's parents (both parents attended). At the meeting, the school's vice principal responded to the 10 contents of the request.

At the same time, the school board and related teachers sent an apology to PL's parents.

However, at the end of the meeting, Ms. NTNA did not agree with all the content of the school's response above and did not sign the meeting minutes.

Ms. Hang said that based on the reports of the teachers involved, the videos recording the incident and the working sessions of the school's members to resolve the incident, the two teachers assigned to manage the lesson handled the situation so that the two students stopped fighting and at the same time asked Bao Anh, a student in the same class, to take PL to the medical room.

In the medical room, PL had his wound treated by medical staff.

According to Ms. Hang, Ms. Pham Thi Anh, the teacher in charge of class 5A3, also resolved the incident in class between the two students.

Specifically, when PL entered the classroom, Ms. Anh saw that PL had scratches on his face, so she called two students (PL and S.) to report the incident. The teacher then asked the students who witnessed the incident to confirm the truth. As soon as she had all the information, Ms. Anh resolved the conflict between the two students by reminding the whole class not to quarrel or fight in class, causing disunity.

At the same time, she directly encouraged PL to calmly participate in class with her friends. At the end of class, Ms. Anh told PL and S. to stay behind to continue discussing, analyzing and reminding. After that, the two students made peace and promised not to fight again next time. However, Ms. Anh did not promptly contact the student's family and report the incident to the school board.

Also according to Ms. Hang, that same evening, Ms. Anh and student S.'s parents came to visit and encourage PL, but the parents did not allow them to meet, saying they were "busy, I hope you understand."

On the morning of August 29, Ms. Anh kept in touch regularly to ask about S.'s condition. On the evening of September 29, Ms. Anh and S.'s mother went to the Emergency Department of Thanh Nhan Hospital to visit and encourage PL. At about 10:05 p.m. the same day, the teacher and S.'s parents returned home from the hospital.

After receiving the report from the homeroom teacher, the representative of the school's Board of Directors contacted the parents to visit and encourage the student. However, according to the principal, after many contacts, the family still refused to allow the Board of Directors and teachers to visit PL.

On the afternoon of September 4, the Board of Directors and 3 teachers in charge of the Physical Education class visited the student's home and met his mother to inquire, encourage, and apologize to the family and student.

Ms. Hang said that the school has coordinated with Vinh Hung Ward Police to resolve this incident since September 3.

According to Ms. Hang, after the incident, the parent wrote a request for her child to drop out of school three times.

On the school's side, Ms. Hang said that the three teachers involved in the incident had been disciplined since September 4.

Specifically, the school's disciplinary action against these 3 teachers is to review them before the Education Council; remove them from the position of homeroom teacher of class 5A3; and lower their competition category in 2024.
