Our first impression when meeting Mr. Phong was his friendliness, closeness and enthusiasm. Mr. Phong shared: “Being attached to the Youth Union, what I most desire and am passionate about is to contribute to movements and volunteer activities. Because this is an opportunity for young people to show their dynamism and creativity in participating in social security work. At the same time, it helps us foster solidarity and spread the image of the green volunteer shirt in the community.”

Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching: "Wherever there is a need for youth, there are youth; wherever there is difficulty, there are youth", every year, he and the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union coordinate with sister units and philanthropists to organize many visits and give gifts to policy families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, former volunteer youth,... in the commune.

In addition, in 2024, Mr. Phong coordinated with philanthropists to donate 100 gifts to disadvantaged students on the occasion of the new school year and 200 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to students in the commune with a total value of 56.6 million VND.

In addition, he actively supports union members and youth to access capital from the Social Policy Bank through economic development models with a total capital of 1.8 billion VND for 38 households to borrow. Thanks to that, many youth in difficult circumstances have the opportunity to develop their family economy, have jobs, escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

“I hope to be able to organize more volunteer and social security activities, develop the Youth Union's funds to support children in difficult circumstances, disadvantaged youth, and policy families in the area, etc. Thereby, contributing to building a better community,” said Mr. Phong.

The Youth Union movement to participate in building new rural areas has been effectively implemented by Lac Tan Commune Youth Union. Under his leadership, the Youth Union actively carried out many activities such as environmental sanitation, tree planting, and effectively implementing the model of Saying No to Plastic Waste,...

Notably, implementing the "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe" routes, in 2024, the Commune Youth Union mobilized social resources to plant 100 yellow trumpet trees and install 32 light bulbs on Phan Van The route (in Hamlet 2) with a cost of nearly 50 million VND. In addition, with support from Tan Tru District Youth Union, the Commune Youth Union continued to carry out the project on the 7 Hoang Canal route (in Hamlet 5) with a total cost of more than 45 million VND.

Mr. Phong's contributions over the past time have been recognized with many certificates of merit at all levels. This is not only a joy and honor but also a motivation for him to continue to strive and devote himself on the road ahead, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of the Union's work.

"Leader" of the Group spreads the spirit of vanguard

For nearly 4 years as Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Trach Commune, Can Duoc District, Mr. Nguyen Huu Loc has made an impression with his enthusiasm and sense of responsibility at work. Thereby, promoting the development of the commune's youth movement.

Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Trach commune, Can Duoc district - Nguyen Huu Loc regularly organizes many activities to support disadvantaged youth to have conditions to develop the economy, ensure their lives and income.

Mr. Loc shared: “When I was trusted by the Youth Union, I saw this as an opportunity to demonstrate my youth, dare to think, dare to do and be a pioneer in all movements. In the early days of taking on the role of leader of the Commune Youth Union, I could not avoid being confused, but I always kept in mind that challenges are opportunities to grow. Therefore, I constantly researched, learned, exchanged experiences, and implemented many practical and meaningful activities to attract and gather Youth Union members to participate.”

The spirit of shock and volunteerism of the Youth Union members in the commune is demonstrated through many programs, movements and activities such as the Summer Volunteer Youth Campaign, Spring Volunteer, Green Sunday, Volunteer Saturday, etc. In addition, he and the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union organized visits, encouragement and help for families with meritorious services to the revolution through specific activities such as repairing houses, cleaning, organizing candle lighting ceremonies at the martyrs' memorial of the commune, etc., attracting many Youth Union members in the commune to participate.

In 2024, in order to support and share with those in difficult circumstances, especially during the prolonged drought, Mr. Loc and the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee donated 30-liter water cans along with drinking water and domestic water to people in Hamlet 5. In addition, the Commune Youth Union and philanthropists organized a Mid-Autumn Festival, presenting 300 gifts to children in Hamlet 1B and Hamlet 4A with a value of 9 million VND.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, he and the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee coordinated with sponsors to give 100 gifts to people in difficult circumstances in the commune with a value of 50 million VND.

Every year, Mr. Loc also encourages young people to donate blood voluntarily, with about 25 units of blood per year. He himself has donated blood 10 times. His enthusiasm and exemplary spirit contribute to spreading the message of humanity, promoting the voluntary blood donation movement in Tan Trach commune to develop more and more strongly.

With their efforts, Mr. Nguyen Thai Phong and Mr. Nguyen Huu Loc have affirmed the pioneering role of the Youth Union in social work. They are not only enthusiastic young people but also shining examples, contributing to beautifying the image of Long An Youth Union as dynamic, creative and responsible to the community./.
