According to information from the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Center of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.7 has just occurred in Myanmar, causing aftershocks affecting several provinces and cities of Vietnam.

In order to proactively respond to situations, ensure smooth communication to serve the direction and operation work in the city; at the same time, minimize damage and ensure the safety of telecommunications infrastructure, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City requests telecommunications enterprises in the area to implement the following contents:

Firstly, urgently organize inspection, review and assessment of the safety level of communication towers, mobile information transmission and reception stations, and telecommunications networks to ensure safety for exploitation and use.

Second, develop a plan to mobilize human resources, vehicles, equipment, and spare materials to restore the telecommunications infrastructure network in case of natural disasters or incidents, ensuring communication to serve the direction and operation of disaster response work of the City People's Committee and the Command Committee for Civil Defense - Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Can Tho City.

Third, assign leaders and technical staff to handle communication incidents to promptly respond and resolve arising problems (if any).

Fourth, be ready to organize disaster warning messages to subscribers in areas that may be affected at the request of the Can Tho City People's Committee, the Can Tho City Civil Defense - Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue Command.
