Kimmich ends all speculation

Kimmich commits future to Bayern.

Kimmich's strong relationship with Bayern is set to continue as he announced he is close to signing a new contract, committing to stay at the club until June 2029. "Everything is almost done," the German midfielder told ZDF Sports . Despite strong interest from several foreign clubs and the possibility of leaving for free in the summer, Kimmich has chosen to stay.

Also in an interview with ZDF Sports , the midfielder wearing the number 6 shirt shared that his family is very happy in Munich: "When you play for a club like Bayern, feel comfortable in Munich, have children and family there, that is definitely an important factor. But the club itself is also another big reason."

"After 10 years at Bayern, you realise that there are not many teams in the world that can compare. There are not many places that make you think that you want to go there to make the next big step," Kimmich explained about his decision to extend his contract.

Kimmich also praised the long-term planning of coach Vincent Kompany and directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, with Davies and Musiala signing earlier motivating him to make a similar choice.

Despite winning every title possible at Bayern, Kimmich still wants to continue his career where he has spent most of his playing time. By next summer, Kimmich will have completed 10 years with Bayern Munich.

Since making his debut for the first team under coach Pep Guardiola in 2015, Kimmich has become an indispensable pillar, even wearing the club captain's armband, winning a total of 20 major and minor titles.
