Proposal to build expressway connecting Dak Nong - Lam Dong

Comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee discussed some contents with the working delegation of Lam Dong province.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and branches of Lam Dong and Dak Nong provinces agreed to prioritize investment in construction, renovation and upgrading of National Highway 28, Gia Nghia - Dak Som - Di Linh section intersecting with National Highway 20 with a total length of about 104 km; scale of a grade III road. This is an important route in connecting and promoting the potential advantages of the two provinces. The upgrading of the route needs to be implemented soon because the site clearance work is very favorable.

Director of the Department of Construction, Phan Nhat Thanh, proposed investment plans to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28, Gia Nghia - Dak Som - Di Linh section, intersecting with National Highway 20.

The two provinces also agreed to implement the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Bao Lam (Lam Dong) dynamic road construction project, connecting the Southern Central Highlands with the South Central and Southeast regions. The investment scale is expected to build about 10km of new grade III - Mountainous roads and a large bridge over the Dong Nai River, 1km long. The invested construction route will shorten the length of the road from Gia Nghia to Bao Lam, Bao Loc by about 25km; at the same time, reduce the load on National Highway 28, creating the shortest connecting route between the bauxite industrial center of Tan Rai (Lam Dong) and Nhan Co (Dak Nong).

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposals of Dak Nong province on upgrading and expanding National Highway 28; building the dynamic route Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Bao Lam (Lam Dong).

For routes with limited capital as well as the upgrading and expansion of National Highway 28, the two provinces agreed to assign the Departments of Construction and Finance of the two provinces to closely coordinate to discuss and start construction soon.

Regarding the proposal for the Central Government to supplement the planning of the expressway connecting Dak Nong - Lam Dong - Binh Thuan, the three provinces met and agreed on the most reasonable investment plan.

Comrade Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee agreed to propose the Prime Minister to approve the additional planning of the expressway connecting Dak Nong - Lam Dong - Binh Thuan.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the two provinces have high consensus and agreement in proposing investment in connecting traffic routes.

Investing in the construction of traffic routes will open up space for socio-economic development for localities. The immediate priority and determination to do it soon is to upgrade and expand National Highway 28. Regarding the bridge connecting Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) to Bao Lam district (Lam Dong), which plays a very important role, Dak Nong province will coordinate with Lam Dong province to urgently implement it.

Comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee emphasized that investment in the construction of traffic routes will open up space for socio-economic development for localities.

The provinces are promoting the survey of the expressway connecting Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan) - Da Lat City (Lam Dong) - Gia Nghia City (Dak Nong) to choose the investment option with the shortest and most economical distance.
