In late March and early April 2025, at Le Hong Phong Primary School, Dak Buk So Commune, Tuy Duc District and Krong No High School, Krong No District, the exhibition "Museum artifacts and the public" was held by the Department of Culture - Sports & Tourism (VH-TT&DL) of Dak Nong Province in coordination with the People's Committees of Tuy Duc and Krong No districts.

The exhibition introduced to the public more than 100 images and 150 artifacts with the content: "Duc Lap victory, liberating Buon Ma Thuot, liberating the South, unifying the country", "Achievements and potential for socio-economic development of Tuy Duc district - Dak Nong", "Sovereignty over Hoang Sa - Truong Sa islands"...

Excited to experience and learn about historical artifacts, student Phan Vu Hong Hanh, grade 11, Krong No High School, Krong No District said that through the exhibition, he did not need to go far but could still learn about history through the artifacts. He saw with his own eyes artifacts from the war such as flasks, mugs, backpacks, rice bags, etc. closely associated with revolutionary soldiers in the battles at Duc Lap, Gia Nghia... Through that, he understood more about the extremely arduous but very brave and heroic fighting life of his fathers and grandfathers at that time. From that, he loved his Fatherland even more.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lung, Director of the Provincial Museum, said that in recent times, the Provincial Museum has innovated thematic exhibition activities, thereby increasing the attractiveness and attracting visitors to visit, learn, study and research. Along with promoting the cultural and historical values ​​of the permanent exhibition system at the museum, the mobile exhibition work always closely follows and promptly serves the important political and cultural tasks of the country and the province, meeting the needs of enjoyment and learning about history and culture of the majority of the public who do not have the opportunity to visit the museum.

The provincial museum focuses on the following contents: thematic collections; collections of cultural, political and social events; received from archaeological excavations; donations from organizations and individuals. The collected topics are researched, displayed and exhibited to serve the political and cultural events of the province.

In 2024, the Provincial Museum organized 3 major exhibitions to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of Dak Nong province (January 1, 2004 - January 1, 2024); respond to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week and World Oceans Day 2024; celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024). The exhibitions introduced to the public 443 artifacts, photos, and documents including: 312 artifacts on ethnic culture and archaeology; 125 photos, 6 models.

According to the assessment, the initial implementation of innovation in display and thematic exhibition activities has been positively responded to and highly appreciated by the public, attracting many individuals and researchers who want to come to enjoy and seek information.

“The exhibitions aim to honor the value of museum artifacts, while raising awareness and the role of the community in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. Through the exhibition, the public has the opportunity to learn and explore historical stories associated with each artifact; and at the same time, see the role of the museum in connecting heritage with the public,” said the Director of Dak Nong Provincial Museum.

Preserving and preserving more than 46,500 artifacts

Along with the work of displaying and reproducing artifacts, the work of collecting documents and artifacts has been implemented and coordinated by the Provincial Museum, achieving many results. The warehouse system of Dak Nong Provincial Museum is currently storing and preserving more than 46,500 artifacts.

Among them, many unique and rare collections of artifacts are highly appreciated by domestic and foreign experts... In particular, the Dak Son lithophone was recognized by the Prime Minister as a National Treasure of Vietnam.

The provincial museum has coordinated with specialized units to digitize 370 ethnic cultural, historical, and archaeological artifacts belonging to the group of rare and valuable artifacts and antiques. These are all original, unique artifacts with special cultural and historical values ​​that are being preserved and displayed, contributing to serving the needs of sightseeing, studying, and researching of all classes of people and tourists.

In addition, Dak Nong Provincial Museum actively coordinates with departments, branches, local authorities and related units, historical witnesses to build and complete the dossier to submit to the competent authority for ranking 5 national and provincial relics and scenic spots in 2024. The unit deploys the placement of markers to determine the locations of protected areas for newly ranked relics according to regulations...

In addition, the museum coordinated with the Central Highlands Institute of Social Sciences and the Vietnam National Museum of History to conduct excavations and organize a conference to report preliminary results of archaeological excavations at two archaeological sites in the province, including the site in village 7, Dak D'ro commune, Krong No district and the archaeological site in village 8, Dak Wil commune, Cu Jut district.

At the same time, the management, protection and promotion of historical relics of the sites of the M'nong people's struggle against French colonialism led by N'Trang Long in Tuy Duc district helped attract more than 1,000 visitors.
