In the North and Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, the weather continues to be very cold, especially in mountainous areas; in the area from Ha Tinh to Thua Thien Hue, the weather is very cold. During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature at night and early morning in the North and Thanh Hoa, Nghe An is generally 9-12 degrees, in the mountainous areas of the North it is generally 5-8 degrees, in some places in the high mountains it is below 3 degrees; in the area from Ha Tinh to Thua Thien Hue it is generally 14-17 degrees.

At sea, from December 19, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind will strengthen to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 2-4m high, rough seas; in the North East Sea (including the waters of Hoang Sa archipelago), there will be strong Northeast wind of level 7, gusting to level 9, waves 5-7m high, rough seas.

From the evening and night of December 19, the sea area from Quang Tri to Ca Mau, the area between the East Sea and the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa archipelago) will have strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 5-7m high, rough seas.

The Hydrometeorological Agency also forecasts that in the evening and night of December 19, in the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa, there will be rain, localized moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 15-30mm, some places over 60mm. Warning for the day and night of December 20, in the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa, there will continue to be moderate rain, some places heavy rain and thunderstorms; in the area from Quang Tri to Thua Thien Hue, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
