The North welcomes severe cold, the Central region has prolonged heavy rain

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the North, a cold air mass is moving south.

On the night of November 3, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast; then affect the North Central region, most places in the Northwest and some places in the Central Central region. The northeast wind inland will strengthen to level 3, coastal areas level 4.

On November 4, the Northeast and Thanh Hoa regions will turn cold. From November 5 to 6, the North and North Central regions will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the North and North Central regions will generally be between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas below 15 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Agency said that in the afternoon and evening of November 2, the Central region will have localized thunderstorms; in the Southern Central Highlands and the Southern region, some places will have heavy to very heavy rain.

From early morning of November 3 to November 4, the Ha Tinh - Quang Ngai area will have moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall of 70-150mm, locally over 300mm.

Warning of risk of heavy localized rain (>150mm/6h).

On November 4, the Thanh Hoa - Nghe An area had moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 30 to 60mm, locally over 90mm.

Notably, on the night of November 4 and the day of November 5, the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai had heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 70-150mm, locally over 300mm. Particularly from Ha Tinh to Da Nang, common rainfall was 100-250mm, locally over 350mm.

Heavy rain in the central provinces is likely to continue for many days and may extend down to Binh Dinh. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Heavy rain and localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

– Northeast: Few clouds, no rain at night, some places have fog in the early morning, sunny during the day. Northeast wind level 2-3. Cold at night and early morning, some places in mountainous areas are cold. Lowest temperature 18-21 degrees Celsius, some places in mountainous areas are below 18 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 28-31 degrees Celsius, some places are above 31 degrees Celsius.

– Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: Cloudy, in the North (Thanh Hoa – Nghe An) no rain at night, early morning fog in some places, sunny during the day; in the South (Ha Tinh – Thua Thien Hue) there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places, from early morning there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain in some places.

North to northwest wind level 2-3. Cold at night in the North. Thunderstorms with possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts. Lowest temperature 19-22 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 27-30 degrees Celsius.

– Da Nang to Binh Thuan: Cloudy, the North (Da Nang – Quang Ngai) has scattered showers and thunderstorms, in the early morning there is moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain in some places. The South has scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, in the late afternoon there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some places.

North wind level 2-3. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 27-30 degrees Celsius, in the South, some places above 30 degrees Celsius.
