From early morning and tomorrow (March 6), the cold air will continue to spread throughout the North Central region, the Northwest region and some places in the Central Central region. Inland, the wind will gradually change direction to the Northeast, increasing to level 2-3, coastal areas to level 3-4, with some places gusting to level 6.

The meteorological agency said that the lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North is generally from 12-15 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas below 8 degrees Celsius; North Central region 14-17 degrees Celsius; Quang Binh to Hue 16-19 degrees Celsius.

In Hanoi, there will be light rain and drizzle, and from tonight the weather will turn cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 13-15 degrees.

At the same time, due to the influence of cold air strengthening combined with strong currents in the upper westerly wind zone, from today to tomorrow, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered rain and light rain.

Severe cold in the mountainous areas of the Northeast is likely to last until around March 8.

In addition, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station also said that the cold air is likely to strengthen further in the Central and Southern provinces in the first 2-3 days, then gradually weaken. The high-altitude easterly wind disturbance is likely to become more active, causing unseasonal rain in the Ho Chi Minh City area from March 7-11.

Specifically, from March 6 to 10, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City was quite cool with the highest temperature ranging from 32 to 33 degrees, down 2 to 3 degrees compared to the past few days; at the same time, there were sudden unseasonal rains.

On March 4, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment sent a document to the People's Committees of provinces and cities in the Northern region and coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa about proactively responding to the cold spell and strong winds at sea.

The Ministry recommends that provinces and cities in the Northern and North Central regions closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on the development of cold air, and promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures.

Localities have implemented plans to respond to the cold, especially strengthening instructions on ensuring the health of people and students at boarding schools, and not using coal stoves to heat closed rooms to avoid human casualties.

At the same time, the Ministry requested localities to propagate and guide livestock farming households to strengthen barns, cover and keep warm, store food; prevent and control epidemics for livestock and poultry; and guide measures to ensure safety for rice, vegetable and other crop production.
