Spring is warmer in new homes
With the motto "No family is left without Tet, no family is left behind", Dong Trieu city always cares, supports, and takes care of Tet for policy families, meritorious people, people in difficult circumstances... to help them rise up in life, have a full and cozy Tet every time Tet comes, Spring comes.
This year's Spring is truly meaningful for Mrs. Bui Thi Mai (residing in Ha 2 area, Trang An ward, Dong Trieu city) when she gets to celebrate Tet in a new house that was handed over more than 2 months ago. Being a poor household, many years ago, she had to live in a house that was leaky, seriously degraded, and potentially dangerous.

Based on the proposal of the local government, the Political Department of the Air Defense - Air Force (PK-KQ) coordinated, reviewed, prepared documents, and proposed that the Party Committee and the Head of the PK-KQ Command allocate 80 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund to support the construction of a solidarity house for Ms. Mai's family.
The 52m2 house with closed outbuildings, suitable for the living conditions of Mrs. Mai's family, was handed over to her family. On the day she moved to the new house, Mrs. Mai was moved: "The old house of the family was built decades ago and had not been repaired or upgraded, so it was dilapidated. Thanks to the care and help of the Party, the State, the Army and the local government, I was able to build a new house to celebrate Tet, life will become more and more stable...".
Also in the joy of moving to a new house to celebrate Tet in a more spacious and warm house this year, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoan's family and Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong's family in Hung Dao ward, Dong Trieu city will no longer have to live in fear when living in degraded level four houses with many lurking dangers.
Ms. Hoan's new house has an area of over 51m2, built with a total cost of 171 million VND. Mr. Phuong's house was built on an area of 110m2, with a total cost of 380 million VND, completed and put into use.
In addition to receiving new houses, the "Fund for the Poor" Campaign Committee of Dong Trieu city supported each family of Ms. Hoan and Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong with 50 million VND.
As for Ms. Hoan's family, due to difficult family circumstances and her own serious illness, she received additional support for the remaining amount of 121 million VND from philanthropist Vu Thi Ha in Viet Dan commune, Dong Trieu city.
16 billion VND in Tet gifts for the poor and meritorious people...
According to statistics from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Trieu City, up to this point, the entire city has 18,170 beneficiaries of policy families, sponsored beneficiaries, and people with revolutionary contributions receiving Tet gifts with a total amount of over 16 billion VND.
Of these, 3,233 people received Tet gifts from the Central Government and the President; 13,675 people received Tet gifts from Quang Ninh province; 1,702 people received Tet gifts from the city. In addition, the remaining people received gifts from communes, wards, mobilized sources from benefactors and commune-level organizations; gratitude funds...

In addition, from the mobilized resources of the Fatherland Front, city-level organizations coordinated with the City Red Cross Society, Thien Tam Fund, and Vingroup Corporation to present 1,236 gifts to: People's Teachers, Labor Heroes, families with officers and soldiers stationed on Truong Sa Island, members of the Blind Association, workers in difficult circumstances, disabled children, orphans with special difficulties, the Liaison Committee for the Resistance War against the French, medical staff, armed forces, environmental staff performing Tet duties, poor households, near-poor households with a total cost of 854,700,000 VND....
Mr. Tran Cong Tinh - 4/4 class disabled soldier residing in Zone 1, Duc Chinh Ward said that every time Tet comes, his family receives visits, encouragement and gifts from local leaders. Tet gifts from the Party, State and local government bring great value to his family every Tet holiday.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Trieu City, said that along with regular attention throughout the year, every time Tet comes, the city actively implements activities to care for and support policy beneficiaries and poor households, to ensure that everyone and every family can celebrate Tet and enjoy Spring.
“From the first days of the year, we have reviewed the number of households at risk of hunger in the area to have timely support and assistance plans. At the same time, we have reviewed the beneficiaries, poor households, policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution, especially policy beneficiaries receiving gifts from the President and the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province; proactively developed a plan to visit, give gifts, and provide social assistance during Tet, ensuring strict, correct, and sufficient implementation of the regimes according to the State's regulations,” said Ms. Lien.
The Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025 is approaching, and activities to care for people during Tet are still being actively carried out by Dong Trieu City. This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the concern of the Party and State from the Central to the local level, and also demonstrating the fine tradition of "mutual love and support" of the nation, helping policy families and poor households in Dong Trieu to have a warmer and more complete Tet.
