The UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship Grand Prix of Binh Dinh took place from March 22 to 24 at Thi Nai lagoon, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province. This is the first time Vietnam has appeared on the map of speed and adventure sports on water such as motorboat racing and jet skiing. 






The young rider was excited: “I faced a lot of pressure from Medori throughout the races, he is extremely strong, a formidable opponent. But I tried to stay calm, overcome all obstacles and that led me to victory. I had a great experience in Vietnam, this is the first time coming here, also the first time winning for me and especially my team. I will turn 22 tomorrow and this is a great gift for me”. In the Ski Ladies category for women, there were also beautiful races from two riders Jasmiin Ypraus (Estonia) and Jessica Chavanne (France). These are two formidable opponents in this Grand Prix of Binh Dinh race.

Speaking at the press conference after the end of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship - Grand Prix of Binh Dinh 2024, Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company (the unit coordinating with the Provincial People's Committee to host the race) said that the race is a great opportunity to bring marine sports closer to Vietnamese audiences. Through good organization and enthusiastic support from the community, Binh Dinh - Vietnam has demonstrated its ability to organize large-scale events and attract the attention of other countries. This is an important step in bringing Vietnamese marine sports to international standards and attracting the attention of domestic and international people.

In this race, there were 55 racers from 26 countries, registered to compete in all 4 categories. Including 20 Runabout GP1 racers, 21 Ski Division GP1 racers, 11 Ski Ladies GP1 racers, 3 Freestyle athletes. After 3 days of competition, excellent racers from all over the world gave the audience extremely unique, impressive and thrilling performances. On the first day of competition, while Jasmiin won the Pole and won Moto 1, Jessica won Moto 2 and maintained her form. However, in Moto 3, Jessica had a mechanical problem, causing her to fall and had to retire. Jasmiin shared: I think in the race, besides the technical factors, luck is also an advantage. There are things you can't predict. That's also what makes the race always interesting. Winning is not easy, so I am very grateful to the mechanics and team members. I feel very sorry for Jessica because she is a great rider and completely deserved to be at the top.
