Ho Chi Minh City Grade 10 exam marking is almost complete, recording about 45% of math exams with scores below 5.
An official from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said on June 17 that the 10th grade exam marking will end this afternoon. Preliminary records from the marking councils show that the scores for Math and Literature have not changed much compared to last year. In English, the number of exams with a score of 10 increased slightly. The number of exams with excellent scores (8 or higher) for this subject is also the highest among the three basic subjects.
According to this person, the Math score range is concentrated at 5-7, with not many candidates scoring 8 or higher. Similar to last year, about 45% of Math tests had below average scores, mostly from 2.5 to below 5 points, with few candidates scoring 1 point.
In Literature, the Department staff said that the highest score recorded so far is 9.25 but not many, commonly there are scores of 6 and 7. The teachers who graded the exam also noted that many students chose the wrong essay genre in question 3 of topic 1. The essays that chose the wrong genre, even though they were well-written and close to the topic, were only scored a maximum of 1.5/4 points.

This year, out of nearly 96,000 candidates taking the exam, about 77,300 will be admitted (80%). The 10th grade exam results will be announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training on June 20.
Previously, many teachers commented that the Literature and Math exams were stable as in previous years, while the English exam was quite easy. Therefore, the benchmark score for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City this year could be over 25 points for top schools, 16-22 points for mid-ranking schools, and over 11 points for schools in the suburbs. This level increased by 0.5-1 point compared to last year.
