(Dan Tri) - Leaders of the Department of Education and Training of several provinces and cities said that if the high school graduation exam schedule is pushed up 3 weeks, localities will have to push the 10th grade exam schedule to the end of May or back to the end of June.
The Ministry of Education and Training's expected schedule for the 2025 high school graduation exam is June 26-27. However, recently, some localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Ninh Binh... have proposed to move the exam schedule up by 3 weeks. The time proposed by Nghe An is June 7-10.
Notably, this proposed exam schedule coincides with or is very close to the 10th grade entrance exam schedule in localities, including Hanoi.
Hanoi announced that the 10th grade exams will be held on June 7-9, with June 9 reserved for candidates taking the specialized 10th grade exam. If the proposal for the high school graduation exam is approved, Hanoi will have to postpone this 10th grade exam schedule.

Nghe An also said it will change the 10th grade exam schedule from early June to late May, specifically May 25-26.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City is planning to adjust the current 10th grade exam schedule.
However, some localities said that this proposal would cause difficulties for many other provinces and cities.
A leader of a Department of Education and Training said that if the high school graduation exam is pushed 3 weeks earlier than the proposed schedule, local organization will be very difficult.
"First, the 10th grade exam must be pushed back about 3 weeks after the high school graduation exam, because if it is earlier, the school year will not end and it is impossible to do both exams in one week with local resources.
Second, the education plans of schools must change. Currently, the two competitions are held in June, which is very close together," the leader said.
Sharing the same view, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong province said that moving the exam 3 weeks earlier would overlap with the 10th grade entrance exam schedule in many other provinces and cities, and at the same time affect the teaching and learning plans of schools.
"If it needs to be organized earlier, it should only be one week earlier," the leader suggested.
Another education leader analyzed: "This year's high school graduation exam has many changes. It is expected that there will also be many new points in university admissions.
Therefore, a major change in the exam schedule will cause psychological disruption for students, and also affect students who are preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam. Such social impact requires a lot of consideration."
