Inauguration of the Border Shelter House in Vinh Quang Commune, Tien Lang District

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2024). On the afternoon of February 28, the Hai Phong Port Border Guard Command coordinated with Vinh Quang Border Guard Station and the People's Committee of Vinh Quang Commune, Tien Lang District to organize the inauguration of the Border Shelter House for Mr. Vu Van Sung's family in Dong Tren Village, Vinh Quang Commune, Tien Lang District.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Colonel Pham Hong Phong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the City Border Guard, along with representatives of the Hai Phong Port Border Guard Command, Vinh Quang Border Guard Station, Tien Lang District People's Committee and Vinh Quang Commune People's Committee.

Mr. Vu Van Sung (born in 1975; registered residence: Dong Tren village, Vinh Quang commune, Tien Lang district) is a near-poor household, lives alone, is often sick, has poor health, has no job and no stable income. He is living in a 15m2 house built in the 1990s that has now deteriorated, the walls are corroded, the plaster is blistering, and is at risk of collapsing during heavy rain and strong winds. The family's economy is difficult, and there are no conditions for construction or repair.
After learning about Mr. Vu Van Sung's situation, on January 9, 2024, at the Border Spring Program that Haunts the Sea People's Hearts organized by Vinh Quang Border Guard Station, the Port Border Guard presented 60 million VND to support Mr. Sung in building a "Warm Border Home". On January 10, 2024, Mr. Vu Van Sung's family started construction of the project. During the construction process, the unit's Command Committee and local authorities regularly monitored and supported. The Vinh Quang Border Guard Station Youth Union and local authorities provided many working days to help the family with the construction. Up to now, the project has been completed with a total construction cost of 180 million VND.


On this occasion, representatives of local authorities and Border Guard units came to congratulate and present some gifts, encouraging the family as soon as they have settled down, thereby actively developing the economy and improving their lives.
