Dien Bien TV - On the morning of March 28, the Government Office held an online conference on adjusting the national land use planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired the conference. Attending the conference at the Dien Bien province bridge was comrade Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the conference, delegates contributed their opinions to the Draft report on adjusting the national land use planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, clarifying the targets, purposes, significance, and necessity of land use adjustment, especially when implementing the arrangement and merger of administrative units at all levels.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that the planned forestry land area of Dien Bien province by 2030 is allocated to nearly 592,270 hectares, accounting for more than 62% of the total natural area of the province.
However, after reviewing the Planning of Dien Bien province for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 109, based on the land use needs to serve the socio-economic development of the province, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province proposed to adjust the forestry planning area of Dien Bien province from nearly 592,270 hectares to more than 526,000 hectares, of which: protective forest land decreased by nearly 35,770 hectares compared to Decision No. 109; production forest land decreased by nearly 30,470 hectares compared to Decision No. 109.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized: The planning adjustment must ensure comprehensive and synchronous development, create momentum for socio-economic and cultural development, strengthen national defense and security; well address land use needs for industries and fields; and orient development space, land reclamation, and sea encroachment.
In response to practical requirements, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to continue consulting and receiving comments from delegates at the conference, finalizing reports and submissions; and proposing practical solutions to ensure the adjustment, allocation, and rational and effective use of land funds in each sector and field, in accordance with the country's development context.
